We enjoyed 7 days of relaxation and great service at this excellent hotel. The hotel commands an attractive wide beach front location with two large swimming pools. The individual villas and small 2 and 3 story blocks of rooms are set out amongst beautifully manicured gardens. Our upstairs room, part of small blocks of 4 rooms, looked out directly over the long and attracively shaped pool. The ground floor rooms have direct swim up access to their rooms. These rooms and pool are ideal for couples and provided a quiet and relaxing retreat with a swim-up bar serving drinks through the day. We took advatageous of the 2 for 1 happy hour from 4.30 to 6.30pm to cool down before getting ready to go out.
The main pool and restaurant are sited beside the beach along with lots of sun loungers. The buffet breakfast provides great variety including fresh fruits, pancakes, french toast, omelates, Thai rice and noodle dishes alongside all the usual hot and cold options. The evening menu has a wide choice of western and Thai options at reasonable prices (e.g. duck breast main course with all the trimmings for 250baht i.e. £6. + service) although inevitably a little dearer than local independent restaurants. The food quality was excellent and better presented than the independents.
Our spacious standard room contained a king size bed, fridge and lounge seat plus seats on the balcony over the pool. Free wi-fi internet access was most welcome along with a good selection of tv channels. Housekeeping could not be faulted.
Finally we must mention the army of smiling and helpful staff who responded immediately to any request. We were surprised to be invited to a welcome evening where cocktails and canapes flowed endlessly for 1 hour. On the evening before leaving we were also invited to the restuarant to drink our preferred cocktail in return for giving our feedback and receiving a big thankyou from the staff.
We cannot fault this hotel and recommend La Flora to anybody.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet and spacious. The swim-up rooms are great for couples and relaxation.

This hotel has beautiful rooms, excellent staff & a wonderful setting by the beach. The main pool is excellent & the lazy river type pool by pool access rooms looks beautiful too. What can be better than sitting on a lawn by the beach & eating breakfast or dinner? Walk out to beach & turn left past the Ramada hotel & you'll find the massage girls on their palm covered gazebos. They were very good & a third of the price of the hotel spa. Just a bit further along was a selection of little beach restaurants which were excellent. We loved the Sunbeach & had some fantastic tiger prawns there. The other side of the rope ferry 10bht charge pp), there's another set of beach restaurants. We used the Yellow Bar & it was excellent as well. we found the hotel restaurant expensive for evening meals & the tours from hotel were very expensive. Walk down the road towards the main road & another set of restaurants & you'll come across several small agents selling tours for much less. Excellent trip to Similan Island was 4,500bht from hotel, 1,700 from Khao Lak Beach Services. A little bit of bargaining is required! Pinoccio's Restaurant about 600m along the road had excellent Italian food.

My wife and I stayed at La Flora Resort & Spa for 5 nights this month after a hectic time travelling in Australia, Singapore and Bankok. We were looking for rest and relaxation and certainly got it at this hotel. Nothing could be too much trouble.
We could slide open the patio door and step down into to the pool from your room.Breakfast and lunch (when taken) were excellent and we had only to walk a short distance along the beautiful sandy beach in the evenings to enjoy the various little restuarants serving fresh Thai food at super prices. Toes in the sand, a beer in your hand after a super meal, looking up at the stars - what more could you want!
We took advantage of the hotel's free bikes to cycle around the little village and would recommend a day trip to the Surin Islands National Park by speed boat for excellent snorkling in the clear blue sea and white sands, easily booked at one of the many travel agents in the town. 1,800 bahts per person is the going rate for a memorable day out - somewhat cheaper than the same trip offered by the hotel.
And 300 bahts for a one hour massage on the beach proved equally appealing. All in all a super location and excellent hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights over the peak Xmas period in a Deluxe room.

The hotel has a great pool area, lush gardens, spacious rooms with comfortable beds and great linen. The room did NOT smell damp which can often be the case with hotels in that climate.

We were surprised and shocked to see an old bulky CRT television. It ultimately wasn't really an issue for us though as we planned on lots of R&R by the pool but it's pretty disappointing in an age where travelers travel with their laptops and HDMI cables to watch what they want, when they want... (first world problems?)

The beach out of the front, even during the peak Xmas period was ultra quiet. Quite often we were the only couple in the water. Always plenty of pool chairs. Outstanding breakfast with plenty of choice for all.

The hotel spa was SUPER expensive (ridiculously expensive even by Thai resort standards) so we made good use of the Ramada's spa instead. Half the price and itself outstanding.

It has its quirks but I would definitely recommend this hotel over nearby hotels.

Room Tip: If you don't want an old CRT television in your room, I'd suggest you ask prior to booking.

We stayed here for 6 nights in January as part of our honeymoon. La Flora hotel is right on the beach, it is a beautiful hotel. We stayed in a Pool Access Room and if you can afford it i would recommend spending the money, its so peaceful and to have the pool right outside your door is fantastic. We loved this hotel, its clean, the staff are very nice. The pool bar does a happy hour daily from 1.30 - 4, needless to say we were there most days supping cocktails while sitting in the pool. If you go out on to the beach and turn left, walk a little bit there are lovely restaurants to eat in, very cheap, we had 2 beers a starter to share and a dinner each, total cost €8!! Try the Thai Bar for a Massaman Curry - it is just delicious! The hotel food is very good but we found it expensive and small portions. We loved sitting on the beach with our feet in the sand watching the sunset. Also if you fancy doing snorkelling and a day trip to the Similan Islands, walk up the street from the hotel to a stall that do cruise trips, we did it as a day trip and it was brilliant, not as expensive as through the hotel and we were really well looked after. The beaches on the similan islands are the best we saw in thailand.. pure white powder sand and clear water. As we were on our honeymoon the hotel treated us so well on arrival, we had rose petals all over our bed, in the bath and a gorgeous sponge cake! We would definately stay here again and most definately in a pool access room.

Room Tip: Pool Access Room.

Just returned from la flora hotel and spa after spending seven wonderful nights. We had spent a hectic week prior to our stay in Phuket and so were looking to La Flora for a little relaxation and that is exactly what we got. Originally we had booked a standard deluxe room but on arrival decided to treat ourselves to a little luxury and upgrade to a pool access room. Check in went smoothly and we were offered a refreshing drink then shown to our room which was lovely, there are only 18 pool access rooms in a quiet area of the resort facing the Regina pool which resembled a river rather than a pool with pretty landscaped islands scattered intermittently in the pool. The room was lovely furnished in traditional Thai style with dark wood, a huge bed and a bay window which housed a day bed. The room also had a large plasma tv, a CD player and a I pod dock. The bathroom had a separate shower cubicle as well as a bath and toiletries were provided daily. There was tea and coffee facilities and two bottles of water per day, what more could we need? We were on a bed and breakfast tariff and I think we feasted on one of the best breakfast buffets ever there was a huge choice even a different roast meat each morning, and yes this was breakfast. There was also a second infinity pool which we never used but was very nice and right on the beautiful beach of Bang Niang. We ate in the restaurant a couple of evenings and the food was excellent, yes a little more expensive than eating outside at one of the many restaurants in the area but the setting was worth it we ate under the stars in the garden area served by polite attentive staff wonderful. This is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in not the most luxurious but what makes this hotel so special is the wonderful attitude of the staff, everyone we met from the gardeners, room maids, restaurant and Bar staff, reception and tour guides, were polite, happy smiley people and nothing was a bother for any of them. Well done La Flora your customer service was excellent. A special thank you must go to a few individuals Kuwahna on reception(I'm sure I have spelt her name wrong but she is also referred to by herself as cucumber so she knows who she is). Tiger our tour guide who accompanied us on our elephant trek he was hilarious and so much fun and lastly to Mickey the restaurant Manager who was professional but at the same time friendly and efficient and had the restaurant running smoothly. Once again thank you La Flora for a wonderful 7 nights and we understand why so many people return year after year, I am sure we will be one of those in the future.

Room Tip: Choose a pool access room if you want some extra peace and quiet although if you like being in the m...

Just returned from our 4th visit to this wonderful hotel. We first visited in 2010 and fell in love with it - and have returned each year since. Each year we contemplate trying somewhere new, but are always drawn back to La Flora Resort & Spa. Why?, well maybe because we know that we always recieve a warm welcome, the reception staff ensure we get our favourite room and then for 2 weeks we are treat like part of the family.

Each year the hotel improves - everything is first class: rooms, facilities, grounds, beach, pool area, spa, restaurant, bar, excursions, sports - but what makes it so special for us is the staff. Each and every one of them is amazing: polite, couteous, professional, friendly and they will do ANYTHING they can to make your stay special.

Thailand really is the 'land of smiles' and you cannot help but fall in love with these amazing people. Special thanks to Kanyarat and Ney on reception who we have known for 4 years and now class as friends, Micky who really is the most amazing person and keeps everyone entertained, Tiger (just for being Tiger), and last but not least all the incredible bar staff.(M, Jee, Sob, Ae, Name, Jump etc, etc)

We have so many happy memories of this hotel and the wonderful people, most of these memories involving M, the bar supervisor, who is the real reason we return every year.

Thanks again for another amazing holiday.
