“Good cheap eating - right on the sand”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

I had lunch here twice last week and as always, the food was good and the price was right.

Unlike my previous visits in May, this time the staff were not playing cards … and the service was attentive.

It's great for people arriving by car. You can park right beside the restaurant at the very end of the road that runs alongside the JWM to the beach.

“Outstanding”

We Are currently staying at the JW Marriott. My wife and I love Thai cuisine, and sampled a meal at tge hotel thai restaurant and each of the other 3 beachside restaurants nearby.
Without doubt the best Thai we have eaten is from Farmai. The food is fresh spicy, light and authentic.
The service is so typical of the best the Thai culture has to offer, friendly and relaxed.
We have a 6 month old who is treated like a king, with the staff happy to take him off our hands while we eat.
The prices, well as good as I've seen. The two of us had 2 appetizers, 2 mains a dessert and 3 changs each for 650 TB. The equivalent in Sydney would stretch into the hundreds.
If you like traditional Thai, with the right blends of heat, spice and sweetness, great service, mood and fun this is the place to come.

“Good food, great tour bookings - go with Gecko Man”
Reviewed August 19, 2013

Famai has good Thai food. That said, they like to play their music louder than some of the other beach restaurants but the music choices are good. This may be a plus or minus depending on how you like your ambiance. It's definitely a change of pace from the other choices on the beach. The best part of this place, however, is the tour booking service from Gecko Man. He's a great guy and I found his tours were cheaper and better than his competitors. He also rented me a scooter at the same price they charge in town and without any hassles at all. They have a cheap laundry service too. While they may not be the best restaurant in Khao Lak, I like them a lot and recommend them for food, tours and whatever you like. Good vibes.

“Brilliant beach restaurant”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

This beach restaurant does not get the attention it deserves, maybe because of the other three restaurants at the other side of the J W Marriott hotel.

We have been for dinner and lunch several times now and the staff are always welcoming. The food is excellent and you get service with a smile. We are also receiving our daily Thai lessons from the waiters who take a great delight in asking us the next day if we have remembered what they have taught us.

It also does not shut at 10 pm unlike Blue Mist, Phen & Andaman, more of that in another review!

Great place and we will be going back often before the holiday is over.

Just near the JW Marriott, on the beach, the food & staff are beautiful! Friends we travelled with exchanged money here & got a good rate, too.
