I have been to many resorts and have found this one to be very peaceful and secluded. Although it is rated 5 star and the service on most occasions depicts this, I have found that the hotel is not finesse around the edges. It's clean and well manicured, but I do find it to be a little roughly finished. That does not mean I did not have a beautiful stay. The resort is a little far away to adventure out without catching transport but the hotel provides a shuttle service, which makes it convenient, although the timing of the shuttles makes adventuring out at night a little more limited. They should provide a shuttle a little later for people to enjoy dining in the main town. I'm a bit of a food lover and I found the food at the hotel very average. I strongly recommend eating out if you would like more flavor in your food. In comparison to Thai prices, the food in the hotel is excessively expensive for what you get. There are a couple of little restaurants on the beach front a short walking distance, one called "coconut" stood out amongst the rest. The only thing that annoyed me a little was inflexibility and lack of goodwill by hotel staff on a couple of instances - My partner and I purchased a package and it included massages and dinner daily, the massages were for "Thai massages" which I learnt are not with oil, when I asked to change and pay extra for oil, it was not even a possibility, therefore the massages were wasted, in my opinion the treatment was rigid especially when it was otherwise on the treatment menu. Furthermore, the dinner coupon part of the package was available to all three restaurants on the resort, one restaurant was closed the entire time due to low season. When we went to the Thai restaurant at the resort to use the coupon a lot of choice was limited due to "unavailability". This was solely because they were not stocking all ingredients because of low season. As a result of limitations we tried to use our coupon at the buffet dinner, the hotel restaurant manager told us we needed to pay extra because they were running a "special night" and asked us for 1000 THB extra. The extra money wasn't the point, the fact that one restaurant was closed, the other had a very limited menu due to low season, I believe as goodwill gesture for the limitations it should have been provided without the manager telling us "don't think of the extra money just pay seeing you have come from another country". Anyhow, overall the majority of people were more than helpful and hospitable. The weather was unpredictable, yet was still kind most days for the first half of the day. I would recommend this resort to others.
