We stayed in Bang Niang for 8 nights, and the food here was so good, we ate here three times and didn't have the same dish once. We enjoyed everything we ate, and would highly recommend this restaurant. The food was consistently of a high standard - the Som Tam with the grilled pork, the grilled chicken (tastier than it sounds) and all the salads were standout dishes for us. Service was really attentive, and friendly.

We were looking for traditional Thai food in KhaoLak and upon a recomendation from one of the resort staff, we went here and we were not disappointed! We ate here several times during our stay and each time let the manager choose what we would eat.
SERVICE? OK so the service can be a little on the slow side - but it didn't bother us, sit back relax and enjoy. If you want to be in and out of a cookie cutter tourist restaurant in under 1 hour for dinner, then eat elsewhere. This place is not for everyone - we personally enjoyed the pace and laid back style.
WHAT TO EAT? Som Tam was sensational, one of the best we have ever had. If you like traditional - order it - like the staff eat it. 7chilis .. yummo! Also the Yam Bla Duk Fu was excellent, once of my favourite dishes and the Bla Yaang was fresh and so tasty.
Order slowly! Just one dish at a time - relax and enjoy the tastes and flavours. Rushing here can spoil the wonderful tastes and aromas. Besides - its a holiday, why all the stress?
OVERALL: Talk to the manager and let him choose something for you that you may not normally eat. We really loved the food and the atmosphere. But be warned! If you ask for it really spicy, it will come that way - we eat very, very spicy food - so for us Pet Mak Mak with 7 chilis was fine - but others diners have been known to pass out becuase the food was too spicy!

Unfortunately I didn't "discover" this restaurant until I only had a couple of months left in Khao Lak. The food is simply superb. My partner and I tried probably 30 different dishes and they were all delicious. Alex, the owner, gives awesome recommendations. He listens to your wishes, and then makes the perfect suggestions for the meal. Prices are higher than the street kitchens - but that's like comparing a hot-dog stand with a restaurant. It's still inexpensive and it's excellent value.

If fewer reviewers rated it excellent, an average rating could probably have been considered. The food is in fact no better than in some other places in Khao Lak i.e. pretty tasteless. The hot pot is fun as a stove and pot but thats it. Moreover, for Khao Lak this place is overpriced.

Pretty tasteless? Normally the remarks go in the direction that our dishes are too extreme. (containing Pla Ra, fermented crab, 20+ different herbs, etc.) We offer 160+ dishes, you are sure you have tried our Isaan dishes? You are sure you have been in the right Restaurant? Our price is below the average in Khao Lak, check it out and compare.

We became aware of the Bolle brothers thru their newspaper, The Khoa Lak Echo, and decided to drive down from Ban Bang Muang to try the restuarant. We couldn't be happier. Alex is a marvelous host, his staff attentive and f\friendly and the food, well just try the Issan Hot Pot! We've been back several times even thought it is a 30K trip and have not been less pleased.
