We were a walk-in after disappointment at the Shambala about 1km down the beach.
Reception staff extremely helpful, gave us a few options to consider and reserved us a room on the spot for the following day. Just needed to confirm credit card details when we got back to our hotel.
Lovely big sized room and big bathroom and balcony. Excellent condition and very comfortable bed. The hotel has a beach bar and restaurant right next to the sea. Prices are competitive to the local beach bars and restaurants almost next to the hotel. In my opinion the food served by the kitchen of the Hotels beach bar is of excellent quality and I highly recommend eating at the Andamania.
The staff are also well trained although a couple of them have little English.
Make sure you try a massage at the hotel. The massage ladies are some of the best we have experienced. They have enough English to understand any problems you may have and the skill to sort them out.

Room tip: 4 or 5 room types, all face to the beautiful central garden and up to the sea. Walk around the property to see which appeals to you most.

Fabulous location, our room was quiet and in a good location overlooking the gorgeous gardens and facing the sea. The food was very nice and a good selection. The massages were excellent and no skimping on your hour. Most amazing long beaches to walk on followed by lovely dips in the sea. Unfortunately, all the best loungers had towels on them at 7am which meant they were reserved, even though some were not always occupied, and families with small children had taken the loungers by the pool and on the beach popping back and forth but not freeing up either, and some people had 4 loungers per couple plus 2 tables...they had 2 in the sun and 2 under parasols??? this could be sorted if they extend the sunbathing areas and stopped the towels being put out before actually using them for sunbathing. The pool was used mainly by the families so not much swimming to be done, a children's pool would be advisable. This was a little frustrating but did not spoil our time spent at this hotel.

Stayed 5 nights in a deluxe room before Christmas. A bit smaller, old fashioned traditional Thai hotel. Large room, the room was clean but in some need of renovation. The beach is great, a small pool and lovely garden. The breakfast was a bit disappointing but lunch was great. 5-6 other restaurants on the beach as well. The staff was ok. Could stay again!

If you are looking for a quiet, tranquil beach location to relax I can recommend this hotel. We arrived in the morning, and by 11:30am were ensconced on the golden sandy beach.

The staff are courteous, friendly and very knowledgeable. We dined at the Malaysia restaurant and ordered the signature lamb rack, the presentation was impressive and the taste sublime.

Succulent lamb, marinated in a zesty, but not over powering mixture of spices. Delicious.

The local wildlife have paid us a visit - sea otter and Dusty Monkeys, both paid little attention in us, being more interested in the fish tank and local berries to eat.

We will definitely be back.

This is one of the best Resorts in Khao Lak. Not big and fancy, but small and very personal. Fantastic staff - good restaurant, beautiful beach, great breakfast. Quiet surroundings but still with 4 nice restaurants on the beach right beside the Resort: 8 Fish - Be Friend - Pinky and Wonderful... all worth a visit - and ofcourse Marriot (expensive) There’s also a Mini-mart beside Marriot.
