It is a year since we last stayed here and it was great to see the improvements to the place. The general 'run-down' look has been fixed and the place is looking much better. The beach bar has been extended and a nice covered area made for dining on the beach if it is raining. The rooms are lovely and big - we wanted a second floor one like we had before but they only had a ground floor one available - have to say it was great - mosquitoes are an issue if you sit outside but they are on the upper stories too! Just take lots of mozzi spray or buy it there. Our son stayed in the ground floor pool room and it was just as nice - the only difference was the size of the bathroom and he didn't have a spa bath - to be honest, we never used ours on either trip!

The food / price of food at the restaruant is excellent - very cheap and very nice. The little bar can build up later in the evenings and we had a couple of great evenings with the barmen/guests playing the guitar.

The new suites with personal plunge pools - what a shame they are so public - no privacy what so ever - you have to walk past them every time you go to the beach and can vrtually see into their toilets! They need to plant some hedge/screen around them.

The beach here is lovely and the hotel is right on the beach and there is nothing either side of the hotel - lovely and private and uncrowded. When you want a bit of action, you head into Khao Lak - a ten minute trip. The hotel has taxis going regularly so it is very easy to get in and out. Just five mins down the beach are lots of fabulous massage places and little restaurants - we tried ALL the massage places and they are all excellent and beautifully positioned right on the beach. Be sure to check out Mamas Greetings at the very end - great food, ambience, washing and all sorts of other things. Her business has grown too - great to see.
If you want hustle and bustle and busy beaches..... dont go here - if you want peace and quiet and tranquility - this is the place for you.

Its probably not the best place for kids - not really kids clubs and only a smallish pool - however, that is what makes it attractive to us, we like to go a fairly kiddy free resort.

I meant to give some suggestions when we left but didnt - perhaps they will be picked up here or someone else can make them:
- Breakfast has improved but still very average - mostly, the presentation is very poor - not much thought into displaying it nicely. The pancakes need to be kept warm and out of the flies reach! The other sweet pasteries and donuts etc need to be displayed better and perhaps kept in with the bread. What is with not having cheese available for the omlettes? Surely it cant cost that much to have a bit of grated cheese?? Do NOT cut the fruit with the same knife and board as the onions! Nothing worse than onion flavoured watermelon!

- There was no information book in the room and when we asked for one they said they dont have one. It is very important to have all the info about the hotel and its services and other local interests available for people to read.
- Instead of the two barmen sitting in the bar all day waiting for people to order, I think that if they walked around and offered people on the sunbeds drinks, they would get a lot more business. People are inherently lazy, especially when on holiday :)
- The massage area - it smells of rubbish and has flies - someone needs to sort it out as it is a great spot otherwise and a good massage for a very good price.
-Reception - needs a wake up - they are all half asleep and not awfully keen to jump to assist. The manager, Mr Ting, however, was great and would bend over backwards to help.

Otherwise, it is a great place to stay for the price - love it!!!

The people were very friendly. There was a good atmosphere, with beautiful gardens as well as close to the beach.

The hotell is located just 5 minutes from Bang Niang where there is a market every monday, wednesday and saturday (14:00-19:00). Here you can find everything from beachware to thaicrafts to thaifood. Its cheaper here than in Khao Lak.

Khao Lak is about 10 minutes from the hotell with a taxi.. Drinks and food can be bought att the resturants. For orter things its either Bang Niang or Khao Lak...

The hotell is very nice! You are surrounded with exotic fruits and flowers in a relaxing place. The only ting you hear is birds, waves and smiling staff that says hello.

On the beach just a minutes walk there is nice and cheap resturants where you sit on the beach and eat lovely food. Blue mist for example..

The staff and the service is great. They really listens and fullfill your needs and give you a good time at the hotell.

If you are öppning for a relaxed time with friendly people this is a really good choice!

We've spent 4 nights there, when we arrived on our 1st day, no one greets us. No signage for the hotel lobby. Took us for awhile to figure out the location of the lobby. We booked Deluxe Jacuzzi Seaview room but when the staff took us to the room, big dissapointment, no seaview, just a side view and very far to the sea, not what we have seen from the website, very misleading. We found stains on our bedsheets, dirty chair and torn towels. When I asked the staff about the missing tea coffee facilities in our room, we were told that since we book through sawasdee, com there will be no tea coffee facilities for us, ridiculous excuse, after complaining to them finally the staff gave us but told us that he just did us a favour. Hmmmm..The staff are friendly perhaps over friendly, since that my partner were travelling from Germany, he tried to take a short nap in the afternoon but it was constantly disturbed by the staff talking too loud from outside perhaps from the housekeeping staff, they always talking to each other in a very loud voice, the room has no soundproof and we can hear people moving around, walking, talking etc. Had sleepless night and tired. The next morning we went to the coffehouse for breakfast, tea & coffee you need to take on your own, self service, so stange, why can't they serve tea coffee to the guests? So many staff at the coffeehouse, again they were busy talking, at one point we really felt like we were in the wet market, they talked so loud, I guess the management should adress this issue and please give the staff a proper training, quite disturbing situation for the guests. Another issue that should be highligted is the mosquitos, so many mosquitos and you can't even sit at the balcony or lobby in the evening, please do something about it especially when the guests need to use the computer at the lobby. The hotel provides free internet service and you can use it at the lobby but seriously it is useless as nothing seems to work, took ages to check on anything, very slow internet service and really uncomfortable especially when surrounded by hundreds perhaps thousands of mosquitos. The hotel has no mini market, if you want to get something, you need to go to the town and pay the taxi service for 100 bhat per way.
Good points, the hotel has a beautiful garden but dirty pond with full of muds, beautiful beach and a very nice beach bar.....If I want to come back and stay at Andamania again? with that price which I think quite high compared to the service that they offered and the room condition and the staff behaviour, No, I don't think so, so many beautiful hotels that you can stay in Khao Lak with a cheaper rate...

I've spent a week, became a very pleasant holiday. There are beautiful beach and relaxing beach bar. rooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant is delicious and inexpensive. and the especially, the staffs are very friendly.

Taxis to the Khaolak center is 90 baht. There is nothing around the hotel. No mini-mart. I think what you need during your stay may be a better buy first.
