Great tour with Frank and Rueben... welcomed with ginger lemon tea, met Mama Gladness ... who lives up to her name, walking tour through banana and coffee groves, lunch, and roasting and grinding our own arabica coffee, with a walk to the school and market. Immerse yourself in the culture... it is amazing!

Honestly we only expected typical tour program that we can spend few hours before leaving Arusha to Zanzibar. But we had a great experience thanks to sweet people who work for this place, which also has a beautiful small garden. We were explained about process of how a cup of coffee is made from coffee beans and we could have experience coffeee ceremony too. Especially the moment we all sang together while grinding coffee beans in a mortar is unforgettable. Our guides were very careful and fully explained us about coffee and their culture, and also about how their organization(which is non-profit) is working for community through this tour programs. It was great to be part of supporting their local community. Oh, and the lunch was simple but soooooo good too. I do hope more and more people could get to know and experience about this place and their programs.

I have just stayed for 10 days at Tengeru. Sitting on the veranda enjoying a glass of wine overlooking the banana woods was so relaxing. Mama Gladness and her team are so welcoming it felt like home in the sun. I visited the hospital and spent days at Global Orphanage. The coffee tour is fascinating and you follow the bean from the plant through to the cup. Grinding away singing with the women, roasting them gently in an earthen ware dish and finally drinking a cup whilst enjoying lunch was magical. I hope to return again in September to recharge the batteries in my own small piece of heaven.

This place is a home away from home. They have very educational and enjoyable half day tours including the coffee tour, canoeing tour, market day tour, cooking lessons and so much more! You can also do a tour visiting an orphanage, visiting a school, visiting a hospital and more!

Many aren't aware that they have a BEAUTIFUL house where you or a group could stay. This house holds 8 people total. This house has a dining room, kitchen, There is also a nice shower and toilet in the house. There is one big room with 2 bunk beds, ( 4 beds total ) and 2 separate rooms with double beds. It is such a great place for a group to stay or even to stay alone. Very safe!

Our guide Ruben took us to the market and then we had a great coffee tour. The workers at that center were very helpful and respectful.
