I am a 28 year old girl traveling solo most often. After hiking Kili, I decided to do a safari. Upon the recommendations and pricing I chose this Greg’s adventures and this trip was beyond my expectations!!
Suleiman picked me up at the hotel at 8:30 am and we made our way to tarangire national park. He was so great. He was very positive and was teaching us all about Tanzanian culture and nature. He told us so many specific things about the Maasai traditions being born in a Maasai family himself. It was so interesting! When we got to the park he literally went above and beyond to get to all the animals and get into a perfect position with the car for us to take good pictures and take movies. He went that extra step to find the lionnes and other cats which was absolutely phenomenal. We had a wonderful boxed lunch that we ate between the monkeys (protect your food bc the monkey will steal it haha). After day 1 we went to the first campsite. I love camping and this was definitely not your ordinary campsite. There was an infinity pool and beautiful green grass and a restaurant bar. Wowww!! The cook safiri made us the most fantastic dinner with fresh fish, fresh avocado salad and yummy potatoes. We also had coffee and tea with popcorn before hand. Day 2 was just as wonderful, we drove through the ngoro ngoro to get to the Serengeti. And again Suleiman went above and beyond for us to see the coolest animals in their own territory. We saw a baby leopard with her cub, and multiple lions and elephants, giraffes. Zebras and many many more! We were supposed to head back to camp earlier but he had heard from friends about the leopard and wanted us to experience seeing one up close. And we were so glad he did that (not a lot of safaris would have done this so we were really appreciative). We also visited the Maasai village which was really interesting. They showed us their school and lifestyle and taught us a lot. At camp Safiri made us a fantastic pasta and fresh soup. He is a master chef! During the night in camp we heard hyenas bear the tents which was very cool! The next day we did a sunrise game drive through Serengeti and it felt like we were in National Geographic. We saw 2 big hunting scenes. One where lionesses hunted gazelles (and got one) and after that a zebra became lunch. It was very intense but extremely interesting to see nature does its thing. We also saw multiple lion cubs without their mama from crazy close (and it was so hard not to lean out of the car and pick them up.. obviously not allowed!!). After the game drive we did ngoro ngoro which was also surreal!!! We slept at ngoro ngoro between the giraffes and zebras. In the morning we did a morning game drive through the crater and saw the last one of the big 5 after which we went back to arusha.
Exceeded my expectations! Guide was amazing. Cook was amazing! Unlimited water bottles in the car. Highly recommend this company and request Suleiman!
I can highly recommend Greg Adventures for safari and trekking tours. In July 2019 I went with my children on their first safari. It was important to me that they had a good experience and that they were taken into account. We chose Greg Adventures because Greg is very trusting and we were convinced from the start that we would have the best trip here. And we were not disappointed. Greg has a great overview of the national parks, the best camps and what animals to see.
We got the best imaginable guide on the safari who in addition to being very knowledgeable about wildlife and local culture, was incredibly good wilh children. On the safari we saw the big five, the great migration and came so close to many of the animals that we could nearly touch them. In particular, we came very close to a leopard eating in a tree, lion cubs drinking milk from their mother and a cheetah family. In the jeep there was always cold water and other drinks and the lunches were fantastic. We spent the night in tent camps of very high standard, delicious food and lovely warm baths.
After the safari, we went on a one-day trekking on Kilimanjaro with Greg Adventures. It was also a fantastic tour with an amazing guide.
When we arrived in Arusha we booked a camping safari with Greg adventures that started the next day.
Our group consisted out of 3 other young people, 1 cook and 1 guide/driver Suleiman.
We would like to recommend our guide Suleiman. He asked us what we wanted to see, joined our dinner and shared stories with us. He was the best guide we could wish for!
On the first day we went to Tarangire where we saw immediately many wild animals! That evening we had a luxury camping with a large swimming pool and astonishing view.
On day 2 we passed Ngorogoro crater and drove all the way to Serengeti. In the evening we had a game drive where we enjoyed the sunset and saw a lot of wild animals including a leopard and other wild cats.
On day3 we woke up early to explore Serengeti the whole day.
The last day we descended Ngorogoro crater where we saw a black rino which completed our BIG 5!
Gregg's hostel (villa poa) is really nice, the people working for him are super nice and helpful, it's a quiet place not that far from the city center, we stayed there a few days and had amazing time, we also went on a one day safari in the tarangire national park, the driver and guide Anwar was awesome, he told a lot about the animals but also about the trees and fruits that we saw, so we had an amazing experience also that day, Greg is helpful and will try to do everything that he can for you to be happy!
My friend and I went on a three day Safari with Greg Adventures. We visited Serengeti Park for two days and the Ngorongoro Crater for one day.
They welcomed us at Kilimanjaro Airport and drove us to Villa Poa, where we stayed for one night. Villa Poa has a very welcoming and familial flair which makes it to the perfect place to stay in Arusha.
After a really nice breakfast we, two other participants, our tour guide and cook made our way towards Serengeti Park.
The two days in Serengeti were an unforgettable, amazing experience! The wild animals, beautiful sunsets, the tents in the middle of nowhere, the fresh and local food and the interesting conversations were beyond breathtaking!
On the third day we went to Ngorongoro - what a stunning landscape! It gets pretty cold up here during the night, we definitely recommend to pack enough warm clothes.
We spend the last night again at Villa Poa and our driver brought us back to the airport the other morning - so convenient and easy!
We would definitely recommend Greg Adventures and are super excited to be back again soon!
Well organized, Pia is amazingly kind and made sure we were well informed about the safari before we left. Very good value for money in my opinion. Our main guide, Anwar, was fantastic! He really understood animal behavior and could spot animals easily. We learned a lot about the animals, the land and the plants thanks to him.
