We used Tanzania expeditions for the climb up Kili and a 2 day safari and the trip was beyond our wildest imagination. There was four of us total and the guides and porters were just fantastic. Justin set us up with great guides up the mountain. Eric was great at taking care of us throughout the hike, enjoyed all the culture and singing that we brought to the table, and was one of the happiest people I have ever met. We sang, we laughed, the food was incredible. I was a little worried about that, and they blew it out of the water. Mr. Delicious, our cook, made it seem like we were in a 5 star restaurant at every meal. During the hike, you could tell that this group was different than the other companies. The porters seemed much more happy to be there, they weren't loaded down with weight, they sang songs of encouragement as we hiked every day, and each morning we sang songs to get the day started off right. With this company, you get in as much as you put in, saying that if you want to be a hiker, you can be a hiker, but if you want to experience as much culture and meet as many unique and amazing people, this company gives you that opportunity.

To say the least, this was the experience of a lifetime. Tanzania Expeditions made this trip the best it could be and surpassed all expectations I had for it. Everyone from the porters to the guides were amazing at all times. Food - Amazing. Hospitality - Amazing. Porters/Guides - Amazing. Whole Trip - Amazing. You can tell that the people working for this company truly love what they do and love making sure their clients enjoy it as much as they do. This is the first and only company I would recommend to anyone traveling to Tanzania!

In Feb. 2015 I traveled with 3 others to Tanzania for a 7-day trip up Kilimanjaro and a 2-day safari. It was an unbelievable experience with Tanzania Expeditions. The guides and staff were caring and knowledgeable and did everything possible to ensure we had everything we needed and were ok at all times. From the atmosphere the guides and porters created, to the meals we ate, everything was top notch. I truly felt I made friends with everyone who was involved in the trip. I would recommend this company to anyone traveling to Tanzania for a climb or safari.

In April of 2014 we traveled for 10 days as a group of 9 students and 2 teachers to Tanzania with Justin and Tanzania Expeditions.

During the planning process, Justin and all of the guides with Tanzania Expeditions were professional, responsive, and able to help us meet our needs. Traveling as a school group requires extra planning and attention to planning risk assessment and travel logistics, and Justin was patient with our questions and very attentive to our vast needs.

After volunteering for some time, Tanzania Expeditions guides picked us up with safe, clean, and comfortable modern vehicles, and we drove to Serengeti National Park, staying in tents and eating wonderful food for meals and incredible days as we traveled to Ngrongoro Crater, biked with Zebras and Wildebeasts near Lake Manyara, visited Lakes Natron and Eyasi and the Hadzabe tribe, and hiked Ol Doinyo Lengai.

-The food was incredible
-The tents we slept in were modern, comfortable, and well-mantained
-The arrangements and logistics, as well as activities Justin and Tanzania Expeditions facilitated were all incredible!

-Tanzania Expeditions and Justin responded to any needs and situations professionally and were very accommodating. When our needs or plans changed due to situations out of our control, they helped us accomplish our goals quickly and safely. For example, when we discovered an error in our flight itinerary, Justin quickly reserved and paid for a flight transfer that got us to our continuing flight on time.

During our safari, our guides were knowledgable about the animals and ecosystem and took us off the beaten track to see all of the big 5 and many more, most in isolation from the large groups of tourists that tend to clog the main visiting areas. We saw lions, cheetahs, and leopards when we were the only ones in the area. It was amazing! Of course, we were lucky in what we got to experience, but even the initial areas and things we saw, with the knowledge and insight of our guides, we learned about an incredible amount, from overall wildlife, impact of tourism, poaching violations, and politics and history of the region.

Overall, I highly recommend Tanzania Expeditions for everyone in their trips- for adventure travel and safaris, cultural experiences, and even just guidance on planning your trip, they are amazing, and I hope to be able to travel with them again soon! As a school, I know we were more than satisfied with our experience and plan to use Tanzania Expeditions again in the future for student group trips.

We are a family of 4 - including two teenagers. Our 4-day camping safari with Tanzania Expeditions was fantastic from start to finish. Justin was super responsive by email as we made plans, and was helpful every step of the way. Our guide Hilary was knowledgeable, flexible, and did a great job of getting us to some wonderful sitings in Tarangire, Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater; and answered my endless questions about local culture. Dioniz, our cook, prepared beautiful meals at our campsites, and made sure that we all had something to enjoy. We wanted the trip to be a bit rugged - to keep it affordable and give us something to remember. Our two teenagers THANKED us at the end of the trip, saying it was the best family vacation we've done. Huge thanks to Justin and his team for making it wonderful!
