I arrived in this Lodge after a 4 days Safari....It is actually the best lodge I did in Tanzania...A lovely nature ! A few hectares full of wildlife, monkeys jumping form tree to tree ! I recommend it

Bright African Safaris suggested Mount Meru Game Lodge after I explained how much we love watching wildlife. Our two night stay was Wonderful & Everything we'd hoped for in a lodge. The animal sanctuary has a Zebra, 2 Donkeys, a ZONKEY, colorful Peacock, resident cow/bull, monkeys & various birds including an Ostrich. The Staff attended to any & every need that we had & on our last night at this lodge, left a bottle of Wine in our #3 room to Celebrate our 50th Anniversary with us. The food was very good even for a picky vegetarian. We loved staying at this lodge & would sure stay again if we return to Arusha area.

Room Tip: We stayed in #3 & loved it

The family history of the Lodge and the quaint bungalows offer a pleasant alternative to a standard hotel. Our room was very comfortable, the food was excellent - especially the pizzas straight from the outdoor pizza oven - and the service was efficient. Our host Armand was most attentive, telling us about the history of the reserve. We were fortunate to see a very cute week-old zonkey - having a zebra father and donkey mother, and a number of other animals in the reserve, which effectively screened the accommodation from the main road. I can recommend the coffee tour, especially with Samuel, who is a very informative guide, and the visit with Frank to Usa River town was eye-opening.

Your review sums us up perfectly. As you mentioned, we are different to the others, the lodge was not built as a lodge, it was a family home (my grandfathers home), that slowly grow into a small family lodge. All the rooms are a little different, many of which were built in different decades by different generations. We plan to keep the lodge small and cozy and of course quirky. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We hope to have the pleasure of hosting you again in the near future. My dad sends his regards.

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our northern circuit safari in Tanzania. They stored luggage while we completed our trip. The staff was very friendly, the dinners were great, the sanctuary animals were a nice preview of what was to come, but the best thing about it, the wild colobus and blue monkeys. We saw more of them here then we did in Arusha national park.
The location is also great ~ 1/2 way between Arusha and the airport, and close to the Arusha national park.
