My wife and I stayed at the Mount Meru Resort for 2 nights before starting our safari. The hotel is conveniently located about an hours drive from the Kilimanjaro airport and about 20 minutes from the local airport that flies you into the Serengeti. The hotel is modern looking and caters to a North American/European clientele. Breakfast and dinner buffets are good and a cold Kilimanjaro beer in the evening on the back patio is wonderful. This is a great hotel for transitioning and recovering from jet lag before starting your safari.

Good hotel to stop by if you are planning to visit Arusha or even stopping by before your safari trip. The hotel has all the facilities that are needed like comfy bed, TV channels, nice restaurants, friendly staff, free internet connection etc. Two thing which I didn't like about the hotel 1. The room towels looks old and over used. 2. It might take a while till a staff come to your room in case you need him to clean or bring something for you.

They have a nice restaurants downstairs like a buffet (about $22 per person), pizza restaurant and a bar. There is a chief which also grill food like beef, chicken, lamb etc for about ($2.2 per skewer). They can bring it to you anywhere in the hotel even in the bar. The shops in the hotel are expensive and I don't recommend shopping there unless you have too.

Overall, good hotel to stay and recommended

Room Tip: Make sure to request non smoker room with bath-top incase you don't like shower.

Very Nice, Classy, Modern Hotel in Arusha. Rooms excellent, comfortable beds and has everything you need for a business or vacation stay. Good Location, very close to markets, game parks and the town of Arusha. About 45 Minutes from airport. Staff friendly, helpful and accommodating. Nice modern restaurant overlooking the golf course; breakfast was excellent with a good assortment of choices.
Arusha is known as a jumping off point for Kilimanjaro and the Serengeti. This is a Great Hotel for beginning your vacation. We had a brief stay here, it was a very nice place and would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for a Pool View

I found this business hotel to very good for what I needed-a business hotel for over a week. The rooms are fine and the beds are quite comfortable. The food is fine, and the breakfast variety was also more than acceptable. The coffee at breakfast was excellent.

That said, there is no gym to speak of. And one can walk around the perimeter of the grounds, which is nice. What would be nicer is a nice walking track around the whole thing, with distances.

The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Although printing and hotel cars/drivers were very expensive. Too expensive for what it was.

Minor irritations like the room key cards expiring ever day, sometimes ambiguous information, etc. was par for the course. All in all, I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Get a room in the back overlooking the grounds and golf course.
