We stayed here for one night at the beginning of our safari. It was a lovely start to our holiday after our long journey from home. A very pretty setting, well tended colourful grounds. The rooms are very well appointed and we appreciated the extra touch of flowers laid attractively on our bed.
The staff were friendly and professional
All in all it was a great relaxing time before we ventured on our hectic animal spotting in the nearby area.

Arusha is a hectic town and if you are looking for a quite place to stay for an Arusha stopover this is a great option. A gated property set on 30 acres of coffee plantation this is a lovely sanctuary. The helpful team will show you around the plantation and vegetable garden that provides fresh produce for the restaurant. It is also great to understand the coffee growing process followed by a freshly made cup. The pool looks inviting. The rooms are extremely comfortable with garden views and high quality bathroom with stylish fixtures.

Room Tip: We had room 1 which was closet to the restaurant and pool.

We stayed here for one night.

Placed an hour from Arusha airport, this hotel is set on idilic grounds and serves a good standard of food. Get room near MAIN building. 3 course meal for 2 cost $40 USD but we do not drink. Also visit the lake 4 $35per head

We arrived at Kilimanjaro Inter Airport and we were met by a guide and Land Rover . The Airport was a shock and best describes as a Regional Airport . We have arrived in Africa and Tanzania and you are immediately daunted by the numbers of people, the poverty and the smalls. We were driven to Mountain Village Lodge, Serena Hotels.
Yes check in somewhat slow, but the old Building is really out of the Colonial past and pretty well maintained. We didn't know what to expect , particularly after we turned off the paved main road and onto a dirt track. We then entered this property through 2 secure gateways and were surprised by the immaculate grounds and gardens.
Our accommodation was quite some walk down the pathway and consisted of a separate villa with large King Bed, full en-suite bathroom. In all honesty it far exceeded our initial expectations for our first night in Africa.
The food quality and service was very good and the staff wanted to help in any way possible.

We found it clean, comfortable and serene. Also you are surrounded by superb grounds and the beauty of nature. We enjoyed the stay for 2 nights at the start of our African Safari Holiday.

Room Tip: We would recommend seeking rooms, villas near the Central lodge

This is a lovely peaceful hotel to rest before the start of a safari. We took the option of a walk around Lake Duluti which is very worth the high cost ($35 each). The rooms are comfortable, the showers amazing, with each having a patio door leading to the gardens. There are many birds around. Food was plentiful with many of the meal buffet style BUT.... We could not understand why a certain waitress always wanted to serve us be it breakfast, lunch or dinner until we moved on to the next hotel and found that she was charging double for everything! Thought it was quite expensive! So double check your bills and you will have a wonderful time.
