I LOVED the time I spent at Shanga with my group of friends! What a wonderful place full of amazing people. The gift shop is really cute and they have some really nice (and affordable) gifts. Take the time to watch the glass blowing, beading, and weaving. There is a little adjoining restaurant on the grounds surrounded by beautiful trees. BONUS: there is no entrance fee to Shanga... a must see in Arusha!

“Relax, learn, have great food, shop, do charity and feel good... all in one place!”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

Not a better way to spend an afternoon in Arusha! We felt very welcome from the first step in like we were surrounded by friends. We had a very interesting tour of the facilities where all these nice disabled (or should say skilled!) people make beautiful art crafts. A welcome bubbly drink and great food for lunch led us to finish the day with some nice shopping and pictures with the artists! We even gave a lift back to the tour guide there! All for a great cause! Can't spend enough words to recommend it!

“Perfect start to a safari and must-do”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

My mom, girlfriends and I came here for lunch and some shopping before our safari. The lunch was some of the best food we had in Arusha, and we love the mission of Shanga.

Tanzania is making great strides in how they handle people with disabilities. Shanga is a wonderful example and hopefully we will see more places like it.

“Tour of Grounds and Shopping”
Reviewed April 13, 2013

My visit to Shanga Shangaa was magic - as soon as we arrived a very knowledgeable and friendly guide began to explain the projects, people and activities going on with an intense enthusiasm. The whole tour was heart-warming. Even though I was on a tight budget I couldn't resist the items in the gift shop - beautiful glass work, aluminum and jewelery all came home with me in my carry on luggage. You must make this your #1 Thing To Do in Arusha!

“Beautiful setting, fabulous food and a great shop for a great cause”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

A glass of champagne in a relaxed setting, followed by a lovely lunch, what a great way to spend an afternoon. Then when lunch is done there is always the opportunity to have a look around the great little shop which sells unique and lovely gifts
