The Windsor is a high quality business hotel. Rooms are big, clean, spacious, nice work desk. Bathroom is large, big bathtub, bed is fine, all the amenities. Upscale enough for picky travelers, pretty much what you would expect out of a four star hotel. Nothing really stand out about the place, partly owing to its non descript location. Not much in walking distance. It is, however, fairly close to the HSR station so if the high speed is in your plans its a good choice. Location/Ambience wise the Hotel One is probably a better call for similar price, but if it's just for business purposes can't go wrong here.

We have stayed here several times on business. Usually 3-5 nights. It is always a pleasure to stay in this well run hotel.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The 08's are larger than the other rooms, but most of the other rooms can be converted to 2BR suites. Comfortable beds, top quality lines, pillows, towels, etc. Real, grind your own, coffee machine in the room.

Clean, modern, comfortable. Staff attentive and friendly.

Breakfast buffet has lot to offer including the always welcome freshly cooked ommeletes, etc.

Room Tip: 08's are larger and more comfortable. Corner rooms can all be joined to for 2Br suites.

I stayed at this hotel for one night for business. My customer booked the hotel. It seems to be a fairly new hotel. The staff are very anxious to make a good impression and take care of the guests. Here are my thoughts

Good:
- Comfortable and quiet room. Dark curtains
- Large bathroom that was clean
- Soft towels
- Internet was included in the room

Bad:
- The buffet breakfast was weak. Not alot of variety for someone who doesn't like to eat Asian food for breakfast. Lots of Asian variety...
- I couldn't get hot water in the shower, only warm. My coworker and customers had hot water so maybe just a fluke. I did have hot water in the tub and sink.
- Away from the center and train station.

I would stay here again.

The Windsor is a top quality business hotel, with all the the trimmings.
Taichung acts as a global supplier in terms of footware, fasteners, motor scooters, bicycles, electronics, and furniture. Many international buyers visit the city. My company's own suppliers had no hesitation in recommending the Windsor as the best hotel in town, and it is hard to argue otherwise.

Great room, very spacious, large windows, very comfortable bed, all conveniences, reasonable price for the quality. I suppose breakfast could be a bit better, but breakfast in Asia is never the best meal of the day, is it?

The gym and the indoor pool are top quality, you may swim laps, and there is an outdoor spa pool to enjoy. I was on business but I'll bring the wife next time - it's the type of hotel where you could leave your spouse and they could simply enjoy all the facilities for a day.

Room Tip: Higher the better

This hotel is a pleasant surprise. This hotel provides excellent guest staying experience. This hotel is part of a local hotel group with other properties in Mainland China. The service quality and customer experience far exceed many international brands.

Management has really made systematic efforts to ensure guest stays are comfortable and memorable. These include courteous and very well trained staff. Room are equipped with towels of two different colours (Purple and White), so you don't get your towels mixed up.

Hotel offers free WIFI on the property.

They offer eight choices for pillows to meet the guests "sleeping needs", including the (I guess) popular type A-1 Anti-snoring pillow.

Front office staff and Concierge staff goes out of the way to make recommendation for restaurants and local trips. We checked in late at night on Wednesday, by day two, one front office staff already address me by name.

We did not go to any of the restaurants in the hotel, we only ate at the coffee shop for breakfast. Food quality and service both excellent, with wide variety of food choices.

Only draw back is that it is a bit away from the city center and a taxi ride takes 15 minutes to the city center.

Upon check-in, I was asked to verify my nightly rate. The rate indicated was 25% higher than what I had booked. I took out my printed confirmation to show the receptionist what the correct rate should be, but she was reluctant to change my rate to the correct one. Several hours later, the issue was still not resolved. Finally, I asked the receptionist to log into the hotel's own web site where it clearly showed the rate that I had booked. The receptionist then insisted that the hotel's web site was incorrect and that I still had to pay the higher rate. Only after another lengthy phone conversation with the Sales Manager did the receptionist agree to the original booked rate. However, she was still insistent that the web site was wrong and I really should pay the higher rate.

The following morning I asked to make an appointment to speak to the General Manager and was told that the hotel would leave me a message confirming the meeting time. After a long day away from the hotel, I returned to my room. Shortly thereafter, the receptionist appeared at the door with a cake and an apology for the previous night's "misunderstanding." She said the manager was out of town and, therefore, unable to meet with me. She also thanked me for bringing the web rate inconsistency to her attention and stated that the hotel has learned an important lesson in customer relations - i.e. when faced with facts, the hotel should not persist in overcharging its customers.

I am willing to let the matter drop since I did end up paying the rate that I had booked, but this entire experience has still left a sour taste and a sense of "what the heck happened?"
