The name may be Eiffel Tower Hostel, but this is definitely more of a hotel! It has coffee and tea making facilities, shower items, ensuite bathroom (you probably won't expect this if you thought of it as a hostel), free parking, free wifi etc.

I really love this place because it is stylishly decorated and everything just looks nice! Feels quite high class for the price you are paying :) The room is very spacious, has a comfortable bed, very clean bathroom (no worries about the glass door as there are curtains to cover!) and many TV channels to watch (yes, both local Taiwanese and even international channels to choose from!!). For your information, the sink is just outside the bathroom, beside the door to the small balcony. Nothing much outside the balcony, but we were not expecting to see anything outside anyway. The best of the best part? It is less than 5 minutes walk to Feng Chia Night Market where you can have loads of yummy food and shops to visit! The hostel does not provide breakfast, but this was not an issue as we manage to grab some nice local breakfast food at the nearby breakfast shops. You just need to walk around abit. If you can't speak chinese, you can probably just try to ask anyone as the people are generally friendly to tourists.

The boo-boo side: could hear the noise from the corridor when i woke up in the morning. This seems to be a common problem for hotel rooms with tiled floor, instead of carpet floor. I also read that some people have difficulty finding this hostel. Because we drove there, arriving wasn't an issue. There is no big sign of the hostel, but it is quite hard to miss when there is only 1 or 2 buildings on that side of the road. Parking is provided for free, approximately 5 minutes walk away. Don't have to park right in front of the hostel where there are many people "guiding" you to their (payable) parking areas.

I am not too sure how convenient it is to visit other places via public transport if you stay here, so gotta read up. But if you do drive, it is actually easy and enjoyable! I will definitely choose to come back here when i return to Taichung again.

Booked a night's stay in Jan 2013. Had a little trouble identifying the hostel as there were no signages, It was a private apartment with no intercom system at the entrance and the gate was passcode locked. I had to call whom I assumed was the reception to open the gate.

Was given the first room on the first floor, right next to the washing machines and water station. I wasn't asked to produce any form of identification or reservation confirmation and there was no formal check-in procedure. The guy who let me in only told me the price for the room and to pay in cash.

The room was small but it did not bother me. Had a terrible shock though when I first entered the toilet. The WC was choked with someone else's waste. Previous tenant did not flush, nor did the care taker of the hostel. This made me wonder if the room was even cleaned and if the bed sheets were changed. Door of the toilet was just a curtain and there was no where to hang your clothes. Walls of the room were thin, I could hear loud footsteps everytime someone walks past or if someone was using the washing machines. I was glad that a notice was placed near the machines stating to be considerate and use the machines tilll 10pm.

Wifi signal was zero in the room and poor along the corridor. Overall, I felt ripped off for the price I had to pay for such standard. I stayed in much better hostels at much cheaper rates. The only plus point about this hostel is the location. It is within walking distance to the Feng Jia Night Market. For me to stay there again, the rate I have to pay would have to drop by at least half.

It might be named a hostel more it's more a smallish hotel. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. They have a washing machine on the rooftop you could make use of and the views from the rooftop was spectacular.

It was a very short walk to the main street where all the food stalls were as well as to Fengjia night market. If you are inclined to explore the area, you'll find some nice eateries selling freshly cooked yummy breakfast where the laundry shops are. That's where you bring your clothes to dry after washing them. It's also a short 5min walk away. The receptionist will point the way out to you if you ask.

Although there is no receptionist at night, you'll feel really secure as you need a passcode to get into the hotel. Wifi reception was good too.

Stayed in Eiffel Tower Hostel (New Building) on the 28th Nov 2012. About 5 minutes walking distance to FengJia night market. It is a queit place and safe to stay. Room is very clean, got hair dryer, wi-fi is excellent, only NT900 for one double room. Family room with 2 double beds cost NT1350. Can view the rooms through their web site. To me, no difference between Eiffel Tower Hostel and a hotel.

With the price we paid for, the place is clean, safe & value for money. Feng Jia night market is within 10 minutes walking distance. The place has washing machine & dryer for you to do your own laundry and it provides hot & cold drinking water, tea, coffee & free wifi access too.
