“Colour of life on rundown houses”

Caihongjuan Village
Reviewed November 30, 2013

This is not a typical tourist attraction. No facility to talk about. However, many people are there when I dropped by. I would say rather crowded on a weekday. It was interesting to see the pictures which featured animals, characters and even Taiwan/ Hong Kong Celebrities. There is a small booth which set up to sell souvenirs. Rainbow grandpa will come by to say hello to visitors and for photo taking if you like. He's 91 years old and soon this little non-typical tourist spot will become history in years to come. Although the houses are very rundown, the colour gives it life. It is a place to relive our childhood dream. Enjoy the colour of life.

I loved the colour & pictures decorating every wall & door. It was unexpected & very joyful. It was really crowded, though, so you might want to avoid weekends. You should plan about 30 minutes to fully appreciate the drawings as well as the info centre located in one of the first houses.

Recommended as a place to drop by en route to Taipei. Not fantastic but good opportunity to alight and do some photo-taking. Scale of the village is so much smaller due to redevelopments around the vicinity. What's left of the village is the house.

It is an old and small village with around 10 house inside. Although the area is small, still worth to go. The painting on the aisle, wall, and house are beautiful. It have different funny characters and also have comic of famous Asia Singer such as Andy Lau. It makes yours picture full of colour and fun. The village is crowded with tourists.
