As usual, this hotel is full of china tourists. Upon entering the hotel, you can see that the lift is small and of course, slow.

Location wise, it is located strategically at a good place where this is a shopping mall right next to the hotel.

Room wise, when seeing the door, it shows that it is old and upon entering the room, the room is old and it requires refurbishment. The room is small too but of course, basic amenities are there. We were given 1 queen size bed and 1 single bed for our room. FYI, beds are hard too.

Breakfast wise, when we went down it is full of china tourists screaming, shouting out loud. The breakfast wasn't even good too. The person collecting the used plates even give us a face when we asked him to clear the plates.

Overall for this hotel is so-so. If possible, will not encourage people to come and visit this hotel.

We are Americans traveling to visit our daughter in Taichung. We have never traveled abroad to an Asian country so wasn't sure what to expect. Twinstar was our visit experience with a Taichung hotel, spending 4 nights, on our 10 day visit to Taiwan. In general, it was a great experience other than 1. Beds were unusually hard 2. Surprisingly no shower curtains 3. They are a non smoking facility but the first room we were given had had smokers who had checked out that morning as the room smelled. We were given another room that smelled ok.

We ended up changing to yet another room after two days because we saw a room with a softer mattress. The clerks in the lobby were exceptionally nice and helpful speaking English with us as best they could and we really appreciated it. The complimentary morning breakfast was decent and coffee outstanding! Hotel is in a great location next to a Starbucks and high end mall with a "Walmart" type store on bottom level, nice movie theatre and western type restaurants on upper levels. I was very impressed.

It appears this is a regular stop for Asian tourist buses as we saw different buses every day pull in front to load up in the mornings. This was never a problem for us other than tourists may not take the no smoking rule seriously so you might get a room that smells. And I do caution anyone staying here that the beds are quite firm.

The rooms look alright at first sight but on clloser inspection you can see the dusty corners. The bathroom has cracked wall tiles & the grouting needs serious cleaning. The sink has spider web cracks & the cracks are black, making it an ugly sight. The beds are really hard, had a neck ache the next morning. The breakfast consist of rice porridge & condiments, catering to the many mainland china guests. Locating is good, walking distance to Carrefour & a shopping mall next door.

Small business hotel with above average services and the best is it is conveniently located at the back of the Taichung Railway Station. Big supermarket next door and funny night street food market several blocks away. Recommended to all backpackers and small families.
