“A very dazzling and noisy 5-star hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013

The stuff can speak English and the breakfast is excellent. The manager at the reception was very friendly and kind to chat with you and introduce you where to go and what to do in Kaoshung. Love the SPA world facility with all kinds of funny activities you can use. Love the building design, the wall, the materials used are very good quality.

I think the noise that echos the hotel and restaurant really gets my nerve. There are so many people in the hotel, but somehow the noise management is really poor. For a 5 star hotel like this, I would say the noise level is only 1 star! The only 5 star noise level is near the room area where it was complete quietness and peaceful to stay. The location of this hotel is very very poor from Kaoshung center, which is very inconvenient and takes around 45 minutes to drive. For the breakfast, if you ask for tea, they give you a very cheap tea bag. Even though it is a self-service breakfast, but I kind of expect the waiter or waitress to bring coffee or tea personally to show the "star-level" of the hotel. I think that was a poor and cheap management consider the price we paid. This is hotel is a very very big building, so sometimes it is hard to find where is the parking lot. I think the signs and direction should be put in more places.

Room Tip: room 1668 gives you a quiet view away from the traffic

The hotel room is great and the bed is very comfortable as it is king size. The facilities in the room are very new and with wifi available which is great. The bathroom is big and comfortable to use as well. The room is quiet also. The buffet breakfast is ok with variety of food. As the hotel is near to the theme park and the shopping mall, so you can go to the park and shop around very easily.

The hotel looks very prestigious from the exterior and interior. Had a big room with my friends facing the courtyard. Everything is clean, neat, the toilet is filled with all the essentials including a weighing machine. Only thing is that the water in the shower takes longer to be drained out. A shower bathe of more than 5mins would make the whole toilet wet. The hotel as a whole is very big, clean and new. Filled with a variety of restaurants. Across the road I'm eda theme park as well as the outlet store. Great bargains. The venue of the hotel is mainly for tourist attraction to EDA theme park. Besides that, there is nothing much to do. Would recommend a two night stay. One day for theme park, the other day for shopping at the outlet store.

Arrived late at night and it was quiet at check-in. I am a Priority club member and was asked to check-in in the member lounge. I said I prefer to check-in with my colleagues at the front desk and they refused. Huh? I reluctantly went to the member's lounge expecting superior and speedy service but this was not to be. She was slow and rather clueless, couldn't find my name in the booking etc. After what seemed like forever and way after my colleagues have retired to their rooms, I finally got my key

The room was surprisingly worn down for a 3 year old hotel. Luckily there was a shower and flat screen, but the room was not inspiring

The next morning during breakfast it was really crowded with families and tourists, and we were ushered to a quieter side restaurant. The food and range was not great. There was a guy dressed up as Captain America though serving croissants, which made me smile. He had spectacles and little muscles though

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, after all it is only through comments such as yours that we can improve our service standards and qualities continuously.

This is my first time staying in a crowne plaza and it was quite a pleasant experience. The hotel and the rest of the E Da complex is located atop a hill about 40 mins from the Kaoshiung airport. This entire complex is brand new and enormous! It has an outlet mall, amusement park, ice skating rink, golf range... The list goes on. It's pretty much a self contained resort style complex which is great if you want to spend a few days with the family or hole up in a hotel.

The hotel itself is best described as a Macau style, Vegas-esque, hotel that's equal parts cheesy and class. In my opinion, there's way too many signs and I'm not a fan of LED lights. However, it does cater to a mostly Asian market and it does a great job of meeting the needs of being spacious, new, plentiful and bright.

My room was a good size, clean and comfortable but nothing stylish or chic. Overall, I'd say the hotel is great, if not the best, option if you plan to come to E Da for a day of shopping and amusement parking.

Came with baby and stroller. We're told to move our luggages on our own, the reason is shortage of manpower. I give this hotel lowest rating for any of the so called 4-5 stars hotel in the island which used to have good service. But this hotel doesn't offer necessary help to the guests. The shuttle service to the Eda shopping outlet and theme park are equally terrible, they squeezed about 30 people into a small bus which usually can only take 15 pax. And these are not the usual service I have experienced in the island.

Dear Sapteo

Thank you for staying at Crowne Plaza Kaohsiung E-DA World and taking the time to express your thoughts and concerns about your recent stay. While trying to investigate the incident you had mentioned which had left you feeling disappointed with our service, we would like to take this opportunity to apologize for the annoyance and inconvenience it caused you. We have brought up this matter to the head of Concierge and rest assured proper training and sufficient manning has been implemented to ease off the heavy traffic during busy operation hours. With regards to the shuttle bus service, though called E-Da Bus, it is managed by a separate business entity which unfortunately our hotel does not have direct supervision over. Nevertheless, the level of services provided is by no means unacceptable. We have already addressed this issue with their top management and demand immediate improvement to avoid the same re-occurrence.
While we understand that your recent stay was not 100% satisfactory, we hope that you would give us another chance to make your stay as best as it can be.

Stayed here as part of a group trip to Taiwan. Dinner in one of the restaurants was fine, room was fine, didn't really interact with any members of the staff.

They held our luggage for us the next day while we went to the amusement park and helped with the shuttle services around the resort.

Seemed like a decent place to base camp if you're visiting the big mall or park.
