OK, so Taiwan is not the best place if you're looking for cuisine from all corners of the world, and Mexican food ends up in the scarcer end of the spectrum, so when we dug into our burritos at Dos Tacos it was like Christmas had come early. Everything was just spot on. Jason, the owner, and his wife, are really sound, and I enjoyed good long chat with him, which definitely enhanced the experience greatly. But, to be honest, the food was what really blew me away. I haven't been to every Mexican restaurant in Taiwan, but the food I had is hard to top.
The place, which has just been renovated, is really nice and clean, with chilled out music playing, and they even had MMA playing on the TV when I went there (which might or might not be a good thing, to me it is). The pricing falls into the Taiwanese mid-range, with most dishes costing slightly below or above 200 NTD (about 7 US) with no service charge, which is really good value for money for the quality and taste of the food there.
It's definitely a place I'll go back to and recommend to all my friends.
Hualien is one of the nicest places in Taiwan, but the food has failed to impress, except for this little pearl. Don't miss it
