We were in Hualien in between 2 of the recent typhoons in Taiwan, but apart from a bit more rain, didn't really affect our trip. When we stepped into the lobby of Ocean Hyaline hotel, there were at least 3 or 4 hotel staff around waiting to help us unload luggage and help us check in. There is also a basement carpark, with the entrance across the road but it connects directly to the hotel in the basement, which was great during the rainy period.
The room was of quite good size, even with a triple layout. It may have been just the only room (*02) where the length of the room was parallel to the hotel corridor. This meant that there was quite a big space between the beds to the bathroom, but it also meant that the TV was mounted on the wall far away from the beds. So it wasn't the best position to watch TV from the bed, and there was only 1 chair in the room.
We were short of 1 towel in the bathroom, so when this was brought to the housekeeper's attention, 2 of the hotel staff promptly arrived within 5 minutes, bearing not just the towel, but also a whole set of toiletries and an extra bottle of mineral water as well.
Breakfast in the hotel's restaurant was so-so with not much variety, and the bacon and sausages looked a bit dubious. It was also quite crowded as there was a busload of tourists having their breakfast also before leaving.
