“real life”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

We did a tour with Sarat who approached us on the beach. This trip was enjoyable, if you are into Birdlife it would be excellent. Sarat pointed out local birds.

I found the trip good as it passed by local houses and settlements. It was nice to see real life negombo and the families smiled and waved. We brought sweets which we threw out to the kids and they were extremely grateful. not begging like you may see in other parts of asia.

“Historical Canal”
Reviewed September 10, 2012

The canal was created the transfer the spices by boat, and it still exists and get used by fishermen to travel around. Our "tuk tuk" guide Sujit did a marvelous job of taking us to two different points of it, one where could get down and see the boats and settelements around it.

“Canal from Dutch Period”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

Well built canal, but hardly used except to moor small fishing boats. Would have been nice if some activities were arranged using the Canal.

“Nothing special”
Reviewed September 2, 2012

The canal is located in the citycentre of Negombo. It's a small river with a lot of boats. It's a nice place to stop by, but don't expect something special. There are also boat trips on the river
