Reading previous reviews I did not book the hotel transfer but took an airport taxi @1380LKR. This is easily booked, as you clear the customs hall and emerge into arrivals immediately in front of you is a row of money exchanges, to the right of these sit two ladies under an 'Airport Taxi' signboard, prepare a map with details of the full address of the hotel with phone number as nobody seems to have heard of this resort!. Once identified they print out a voucher and a runner escorts you to a minibus outside. The fare is due to the driver according to the print out however be prepared for a blatant 'beg' for an additional tip which 100LKR will satisfy.

Keep the map! The fact the location was identified by the desk does not mean the driver will know the location despite the fact he will drive off in the general direction. My driver seemed reluctant to use his own mobile so it cost me two international calls for him to find the place so if you are staying in Sri Lanka a while it may be wise to pick up a tourist sim in the airport before leaving.

The approach to the resort resembles downtown Botswana but that just enhances the relief on arrival as this resort has been beautifully and tastefully designed. Modern and chic in both public and accommodation areas it would not be out of place in any first world country.

Unfortunately the designer didn't hang around to ensure every service delivered equally to the visual promise as a few hiccups indicate this resort is a work in progress to meet the standards it looks potentially capable of.

My 24hour stay was without any hot water for showering due to a major fault, the circuit providing power to the kettle did not work and the buffet breakfast was cancelled due to the low number of guests.

I have to say under normal circumstances these issues would have provoked a harsher review but the levels of attention and genuine smiles from the staff during these difficulties more than compensated and should such service continue I can see nothing but improvement here.

Spa treatments and hotel transfers are outrageously expensive so they have work to do to compete a full spa experience that leaves you felling relaxed rather than bankrupt, I hope they do as it will definitely bring repeat business from regular travellers such as myself.

I will definitely give this place another try on my next Sri Lankan stopover and genuinely recommend anyone with an open mind to encouraging enthusiasm in new hotel concepts and not just corporate cloning to give this hotel a try.

Room Tip: If you are ok with stairs ask for the top floor of the block overlooking the lagoon, big balconies n...

A wonderful warm welcome when we arrived. The pool is great and overlooks the lake withplenty of little squirels running around to amuse you! Very quite and relaxing. The hotel is new so everything is clean and beautiful. the staff and food was great - they seemed to love having
aussies to stay. You can walk into the town and beach but just as easy to use tuk tuks. Just walk down the lane and head to town and there are plenty of offers. We only had one buffet breakfast
as it was very quite but they cooked what ever we wanted the next day.If its the end of your
holiday I would make sure you go to Colombo first if you want to shop.

Room Tip: Ask for second floor above pool as thenyou have abeautiful view of lake and pool

I only been in this hotel for 16 hours so I can't give a full review of the hotel, but what I can say is this hotel is very good for transit since it's close to the airport. Also, the room was so clean with a nice view to the ground of the hotel or the ocean area. The Hotel Stuff were so kind and they are trained how to treat tourists. Only two things bothered me in this hotel: The Entrance was so misleading especially if you come at night and the insects such as mosquitoes and flys.

Stayed recently for 1 night with my husband and upon arrival found this resort to be very good. Room was a little small, bathroom very small so I think it was bit overpriced for what you got, but the staff were very attentive and obliging. Food good, enjoyed the breakfast which was plentiful. Wifi in bedroom. I enjoyed the stay until check out when I was overcharged for the airport pickup. I was quoted 2500 repee for an airport pickup but on check out they charged me 3500 rupee and when I queried this they said they had sent me an email to amend the price which I never received. They also wanted to charge us for drinks from the mini bar which we never used so was not very happy with this service.

Superb. We had a deluxe room overlooking the lagoon, it was peaceful, room was beautiful with its own balcony, free wifi and we had breakfast included, although it depends on the package you choose. Breakfast can take a while, so leave plenty of time before you have to leave for the airport, or they can apparently pack it to go with you.

Knocking off a star for the overly expensive taxi to the airport, since after all the main reason we came here was to get the airport run over and done with, yet we paid almost the same price we paid from Colombo! That and the fact there were 2 flights of stairs to our room, but staff were very friendly and helpful with bags. Would definitely return.

Stayed here for two nights and I can't recommend it highly enough, it's new, it's modern, the staff are fantastic. It has a great view across the lagoon and the proximity to the airport is a real advantage. It's a gem of a place, the sort of hotel you would like to keep to yourself, but it's too good for that and deserves all the trade it can get.
