i stayed in the suite with jaccuzi and they provide a butler to serve you during your stay which was nice
the in-room breakfast was good as well
The bed sheets were terrible, with blood stains and some pieces they told me later it was geckos’ feces which ruind the experienceMore

The Beach is only an hour from Colombo, and 15 mins from the airport. The staff are friendly and the facilities are excellent. The suites are spacious and clean although there were a few mozzies in the room. The food was great, there was a lot of variety and the main restaurant offered special theme nights. There are 3 swimming pools, one ideal for children and one in shade.

We stayed at the Beach for 6 nights and had a very relaxing stay. The facilities were good, the swimming pool impressive and the spa treatments very reasonably priced.
On our second day the air con in our room stopped working. After a few enquiries by us we were offered a change of room. In fact, our new room was in a better location and had much better views so we were very pleased. We did note however that numerous guests complained about the air con throughout our stay and the temperature regulation was very poor compared with other hotels we have stayed at.
Unlike previous commentators we did not find the sellers on the beach to be a problem - in fact, they were all very pleasant and not at all persistent. We did however find that the hotel staff did very little to prevent the resident wildlife ( crows and rooks) from landing on the dining tables and helping themselves to whatever was on offer. Whilst amusing, this wa also a potential health hazard.
On the whole the staff were friendly and attentive but we did find that a few of the pool bar staff were surly and unwelcoming. Our room boy produced some amazing towel creations every day and was very pleasant and friendly.
We found the prices very competitive and good value for money overall. As seasoned travellers we would rate this hotel as barely 4 star but if you want a relaxing beach holiday this is the place for you!

We stayed there for one night (03/09/2011)and it was our company staff trip.They rendered a wonderful service during our stay there.
Dedication of the staff was excellent. Facilities of the hotel are amazing. Very big well furnised rooms. Very nice bath rooms, Iron/ varity of tea coffee / even 02 umbrellas were provided to a room/ 03 swimming pools available.
Tasty foods with big varity.
Several action stations to provide hot hot foods.
Nice place for leasure. Hope to visit again.

I was only on an overnight transit stop at this hotel. Given I had flown Sri Lanka air because it was so cheap I was surprised to fnd that their transit hotel was really lovely. It was super chic with very modern bedroom and the most comfortable bed I have slept in in years - it was like a king size cloud. There were a few cracks that showed through - one of the blinds wouldn't roll up and the handle to control the shower came off in my hand. Bathroom was a little small and dark, but othere than that the room was great. I had a view over the pool and the ocean. Good selection at breakfast and lunch and very helpful staff. My only reservation was the spa - i went for a mani pedi which took two and a half hours by which time I was losing the will to live. trainees were left to do a slow and pretty poor job although they were very sweet. however, when asked by the receptionist at check out if I had enjoyed my treatment I gave her an honest answer and she brought down the spa manager and hotel manager who subsequently gave me half of my money back which was a good sweetener and excellent customer service.
I took a tour of Negombo City - I'm not sure that there is any real need to stay in or around Negombo for more than a day but for a short visit I would recommend this hotel.
