We stayed for two nights here and the place is amazing! The Guesthouse is nicely situated and has a nice swimming pool. The rooms are really clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Also the breakfast was very good!

We had chosen Serendib based on tripadvisor reviews and it definitely lived up to our expectations. We had 2 double rooms (with AC) at 4,600 rps with B&B which was very good value. The rooms were airy, spacious and well furnished and the ensuite bathrooms were clean and modern. There was also a very nice living room that we could use, with lots of guide books. As we'd only spent 1 night at the start of of our holiday at Serendib, we didn't get a chance to have a dip in the very inviting pool. Best of all was how friendly and helpful Hilary and Buddika were. They arranged for a car to pick us up from the airport (2300rps), provided useful tips on what sights to cover and provided us with a very delicious English breakfast with a Sri Lankan twist. My son has got food allergies and this was catered to with no fuss at all. For dinner, we took a short tuk-tuk ride to a beach-side restaurant also called Serendib (no relation) that they recommended. The food there was pretty good and reasonably priced. I would certainly recommend Serendib - our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Many thanks Hilary and Buddika - you'll be seeing us again whenever we are next in Negombo!!

We stayed one and a half nights here before travelling around SL. This is a very well run establishment with efficient and charming staff. Our room was excellent value at 5,000 rp triple AC with B&B but it was the little extras that make it special. An efficient airport pick up followed by a warm welcome even at 4am, with tea and water served. Tea and cornetto brought to you by the pool, a great breakfast - full Scottish with a Sri Lankan twist. Oh and a couple of really friendly house dogs. The guest house arranged a careful and knowledgeable driver for us too at a very reasonable price and Hilary - the owner - provided us with some really helpful information on train bookings.

This is the perfect location to start your trip or end it when you need to recharge your batteries. The Scottish style breakfasts are hearty and will last until the evening meal when you can saunter into town for some fresh seafood. Experiences and local knowledge are shared, it is your choice whether you want to benefit from the collective wisom of the team. Hiring Serendib driver for a personal tour of the island is a viable and reasonable priced alternative.

My first trip to Sri Lanka, but not my last or making the guest house my jumping off point. Quality and price are beyond reproach. Well done.

Room Tip: Only five rooms so book early to ensure reservation

I have been traveling several time all around Sri-Lanka for the last 3 years, staying trom budget accomodation to 5* resorts and I must say that Serendib guest house is from far the best place I ever stayed in Sri-Lanka! This place has somehow something special! It is a small guest house (only 5 rooms) set in a beautiful charming private Sri-Lankan style house with a nice little garden with a swiming pool big enough to have a refreshing bath. The all place is absolutely spotless and provide confortable spacious rooms and bathrooms.
The service..... what can I say other than outstanding! Nothing is ever enough to make your stay and your journey in Sri-Lanka as pleasant as possible, but most importantly, you do feel like home which is rather nice when you travelling! The breakfast is also a most as it is made with love and attention, delicious and generous!
I just can not say enough about this place, my stay in Negombo wouldn‘t be as memorable if wasn‘t for the kindness and the care of Buddika, Hilary and the staff!
A spacial thanks to Buddika who will see me coming back soon!

we spent our first 2 nights of our journey in this superb guesthouse. their airport pick up service was punctual, friendly, the car with aircon clean and comfortable. the owner milinda was extremely helpful and knowligable about sri lanka. he gave us lots of advice to help us plan our next 3 weeks of independent travel (no pushy sales pitches). the rooms are comfortable and clean with optional ac. they make very tasty english-sri lankan style breakfast with fresh fruits and freshly squized papaya juice. Since we enjoyed our stay so much, we booked one more night before flying home. We highly recommend this place, and it has the bonus of being very convenient for the airport.

Great guest house at with the best value in Negombo. The owners (a Sri Lankan man and Scottish lady) are really friendly, if there is some issue they will try to accommodate you and they will arrange transport for you if needed at very reasonable prices (trust their advices)

Breakfast is included, and it's very good and quite extensive! The swimming pool is a nice extra as well on hot afternoons (you couldn't swim in the sea in monsoon season). Overall the nicest guesthouse we have stayed in our 2 weeks in Sri Lanka.
