i booked for one month, and on first relection the hotel looked tired and dated.i never complain, but my room was above the the bar and alll i could see from my balcony was the gar roof with several air condition units to look at.the breakfast was always good, but thats about it.the poolwas small and if 6 people in it thenithere was not much room for swimming.the worst thing i found was the amount of sri-lankan functions that take place there.the can be quit large and at times very noisey and rowdy..i felt they let down the paying hotel guests..

Room Tip: go look at the room first before accepting it.

First night stop after arriving at Colombo airport. Good hotel location, right on the beach but the room was very basic and very tired. All rooms face the pool and/or ocean except room 220 (and, presumably, room 120 - see photo of room plan) which is on side of hotel and overlooks a yard full of rubble. The hotel was fully booked so no chance of a room change. That aside, the hotel provided a good first Sri Lanka experience with its good location and a very good buffet dinner. It was heaven to sit outside to eat after the gloomy summer of 2012. The main road outside the hotel provides an interesting diversion with different shops and eateries. The hotel staff were very good and were typical of the polite, friendly service that we were to experience over the next three weeks of touring and relaxing.
If there was a Trip Adviser rating of "good" I would have ticked that. It wasn't as bad as average, but I couldn't, honestly, have rated it "very good".

Room Tip: Don't let them allocate Room 220 - you might as well be in Wolverhampton.

May 2009
--------------
Family trip with my 5y old child.
Hotel is nicely located with a private beach.
Rooms are rather small but comfortable. Very sunny by the afternoon. In our room the blinds were not working properly.
Pool was great! but overcrowded as they rent it for the visitors.
Food was below average. Actually little sea food! Breakfast was more like "Ready Made"

This is very good hotel with smiling faces all around. We were very lucky that there were 3 weddings took place while we stayed here. It was just amazing to see Lankan culture. The beach was just amazing and we could enjoy the sunset right from our balcony.

Room Tip: If you want to enjoy functions going on here, go for south facing rooms right above the bar.

The Paradise is your average hotel, nothing outstanding. The rooms were clean and bright, toiltries and towels replaced daily. Tea and coffee facilities in room. The restaraunt is average, not much western food, but edable. Swimming pool is good but very little shade.Hotel is right on the beach, however the beach is a bit dirty, black sand mixed with normal sand. A little expensive for what you get. We ordered a taxi for the airport from taxi station accross the road.KRS Travels. we booked for 1:00 am in the morning, he promised and he said he would not let us down. He did not show, we ended up with a Tuc-tuc.

Well, guys, how to summarized here in few lines one of the best way i was treated during my vacation ever! Im a regular biz traveller with an average of 120 days on the road, Europe all, US and several African Countries, so i now what i m talking about...

The Hotel structure as such might need some updates/renovation, however, the entire staff (from the housekeeping-Malcom-, the reception, The restaurant/Terrace Bar-Madu- and above all the Swimming Pool Team) all leaded by an attentive and real team builder Managing Director, are making your stay an experience that will also stay with you!

All is clean, tidy (and the staff keep on cleaning all day around...) and the quality of the food served, both for lunch and dinner are excellent (we have always eat there and try only once outside...no way...).

Well done all: keep up the good work and you will never run out of happy customers, which is the key success in your biz.

I agree with Josie comment about Mr. Ragu: we tried on her advise and we had a very nice (safe) trip to Kandy (a must see attraction).

Room Tip: Take the top floor, end of the corridor toward East: we stay in Room 319, more silence than 312A and...
