The restaurant is small, with only couple of tables on the 2nd level. We were the only table during Saturday dinner. So, we were not very sure what to expect. We just read it from here that the chef used to work in Belgium and they seem to have interesting, sri lankan fusion dishes (the only place we saw in galle e.g. capparcio with sri lankan hot sauce!). The restaurant was run by 2 persons: a chef and a waiter. We ordered garlic shrimp $4 amazing value & flavor!, tuna capparcio $4 amazing value, deep fried whole butter fish with sri lankan curry $15. The place is great value for $ with great flavor. We felt compelled after the meal to review the restaurant. We really hope this small hidden gem a success! They truly deserve it!

Just around the corner from the lighthouse, on the way to the police barracks. a few tables almost on the road, so try and go inside and bag a table in the window. Very homely feel and good food.
doesnt have a drinks licence, but if its quiet you can get a drink in a pottery mug shhhhh! The chef has spent a long time in belgium and produces good fusion food. Came recommended by
juliet coombes who wrote an excellent book on Galle, and pointed this place out on her walking tour. The upstairs gives a nice cooling breeeze off the sea. Back ground music creates a nice relaxed feel.

We ate at several places in Galle Fort and the food here was the best by far. We sat upstairs where you got a good view over the bay. It's a nice relaxed room that could be in your home. The service was friendly and polite and 'specials' were suggested and explained. I had calamari in tomato sauce with rice and veg, perfectly cooked and delicately flavoured. My partner had the special tuna steak which was delicious. The background music was pleasant and unobtrusive. Unlike many other places, they don't impose a 10% service charge so you can tip as you wish. Definitely give it a try.

I was at Elita on two occasions in one evening. First for some small eats and the latter one for a little desert. The Chef and Owner greeted us very warmly and prepared us some real amzing dishes. We had the tuna tartar and the tuna carpaccio as starters. They were fabulous. The taste was not very overowering, and subtle. The freshness of the veggies and the light tangy sauce and the olive oil made a very nice harmonious taste. The pudding we had with the treace for desert was just amzing as well.

The restaurant has a very cute decor and a very homy feeling. It really reminded me of being back home (New Orleans) a bit. Would return wthout a doubt. Much recommended.

I think what made a big impression was not just the food but the genuine service I recieved. Galle is a big toursit attraction, and many of the locals seem to be out for getting the toursists to spend money. I was able to relax and enjoy my meal here without getting hustled what so ever. Really enjoyed that comfortable feeling.

Elita was recommended by a guide that lives in the fort and we're very glad we went. There are just a few tables upstairs and a couple outside so probably better to book.
We ordered prawns for starter and tuna as a main. The prawns were delicious and the tuna melt in the mouth fresh (only wish we could get tuna that fresh in London!). The chef also came and chatted to us and double checked how we wanted our tuna cooked.
We would definitely go again.
