A lovely greeting by two charming young women bearing warm towels and a palm leaf (?). A nice touch but what do you do with a large leaf when you're signing in? A bit overdone. The room was very modern with space age lighting. The bathroom was all mirrored - every inch of it - and reminded me of a James bond movie - which reflection is not a reflection. A bit overdone. There is no elevator. The manager accompanied the bellboy with the luggage and hung around for his gratuity - although as part of our tour this was already covered. A bit overdone, as well (I thanked him politely and then went onto the balcony; he left). I know I'm a grouch but is it really necessary for staff to place their artistic flower artwork on the beds? That many petals? Again, a bit overdone. Breakfast was simple and a bit underwhelming. The view of Galle from the balcony is very nice. In the evening there is a bar upstairs and the view with the city lights turns into spectacular. All in all a nice clean place to stay and my quibbles are minor.
