We thought this place looked interesting when we passed it during the day, so we were shown round by a nice man who worked there.
He said they could do a good Sri Lankan vegetarian meal for us so we booked for the evening. To our horror when we arrived there was a terrible singer/guitarist, with a harmonica round his neck Dylan style and a cowboy hat. We asked to sit as far as possible from the verandah where he was stationed. He proceeded to murder lots of well known songs (Yesterday, Imagine etc) very loudly. To make matters worse, he then came round to each table in turn.
Even without him, the indoor restaurant had no ambience or atmosphere, and the food was barely average. Nothing awful, but no wonderful spices. Terribly lighting and tacky decor. And it was expensive.
There are lots of wonderful restaurants in Galle Fort. Avoid this one. I wonder how many people didn't come in to dinner when they heard the musician? We would have walked straight past if we hadn't booked.
