This is a great place for lunch 9r dinner, overlooking the fort wall and the sea. The food is great (we heard many similar comments from people around us), but be warned that it can be busy and the wait staff is run off their feet, but consistently maintain a smile. If you want to be in a more relaxed setting, wait for a two o'clock lunch when things slow down. Really recommend the curry with rice which comes with assorted dishes of the day. We share it since it is a lot of food and get a devilled fish on its own to supplement. Sri Lanka is carb central, so try and avoid ordering two dishes with rice unless you invest in rice futures. The building itself is worth a walk through with some great pictures of Galle in the past. Creaky wooden stairways and floors are marvellous and as of Jan 2013 some renovations to the downstairs area are underway, but these will not interfere with your meal. The price is very affordable, coming in at about twenty dollars for two if us including beer. We ate about five meals here and the consistency in quality was great.
