We went to Cafe Punto based on the great reviews on Tripadvisor and were not disappointed. We went back there as the breakfast was so good, we got plenty of it and it felt honest. I asked what kind of juice I could get and the owner walked up to a bowl filled with fresh fruit, picked up some of the fruits and took them back into the kitchen to make me a beautiful juice from what was fresh on the day. It is a small place, run by a lovely family that deserves all the credit they have been getting here. We loved the honey so much that the owner gave us a little to take home as he knew we would not have the time on our last day to get it from town - these are the gestures we will remember about our trip!

I almost came here everyday in 3 days. The breakfast is so good and diversified and not expensive at all(550r) and the curry and rice is awesome. The seafood one is less than 700r. And they don't charge service fee. If you eat near the fort, this could be your one of the best choices. Highly recommended!

The food was delicious. The curry was to die for, amazing flavours and choice. The western breakfast filled us for the full day. Really good prices and a run by a lovely family. Looks really simple from the outside but truly a gem !

We had the same experience as the previous reviewer - even with no electricity, we were served cold drinks and ruce and curry. The food was good, not memorable but just good. The staff were very friendly and polite. Nice ice tea. Recommended.

If you are looking to try a Sri Lankan breakfast, look no further than this small café on Peddler's St. Tried a few others on our trip but this was streets ahead of the rest.. It does get noisy though, when kids are being dropped off at the school across the street, or are going on a break- Can't remember what time this happens, but its easily avoided! Never thought I'd enjoy sambal and dal for breakfast, but it was amazing!
