“Best breakfast”
Reviewed January 12, 2014 via mobile

If you are looking to try a Sri Lankan breakfast, look no further than this small café on Peddler's St. Tried a few others on our trip but this was streets ahead of the rest.. It does get noisy though, when kids are being dropped off at the school across the street, or are going on a break- Can't remember what time this happens, but its easily avoided! Never thought I'd enjoy sambal and dal for breakfast, but it was amazing!

“Great Food - even in a power failure”
Reviewed January 8, 2014

During a 1 hour power failure in Galle Fort, we stopped at Cafe Punto for a cool ginger beer. We were greeted and welcomed with friendly staff, and the atmosphere with the candles burning was great. The power came back on, so we decided to stay for diner. Excellent food (curry was not as spicy as we like - but the sambal provided helped a lot). Daughter had a very good salty Lassi drink. An excellent dinner choice. Does not serve alcohol.

“Very light curry & rice”
Reviewed January 6, 2014

This is one of the best rice and curry meals that I've had in Sri Lanka! The rice and curry dishes were light and not too heavily seasoned. The vegetables are prepared with care and everything tasted great! The only problem is that this is a very small restaurant and it's often packed with tourists. The cafe can only seat about 15 people. The fish and chicken do have bones left in them so be careful if you are feeding your kids.

“Good, authentic Sri Lankan food at rock bottom prices”
Reviewed December 25, 2013 via mobile

My partner and I had dinner here and were quite pleased. He had the grilled chicken with boiled veg and I had the special chicken curry. Portions were humongous, and yet it only set us back about $10US. If you order the curry, definitely get the "special" curry, as it comes with the house specialty - mango chutney. Worth the visit!
