Really good breakfast hoppers but unfortunately we had really bad service both days we visited.
The first day we were charged for the coffee that was included in the breakfast, and the banana and fruit hoppers arrived with no fruit.
The second day we visited we ordered hoppers and were only told there were no hoppers 20 mins later. We then ordered curd honey and fruit since we were now going to run too late for the airport transfer to order a big meal. They charged the full amount for fruit platter + curd and honey each (550 total!) which was way more than hoppers and fruit in the first place (200). Then weren't told that there was not enough curd until our meals were served with one less curd. Actually we were only told 10 mins later when we asked why we only had one tiny bowl of curd. We were still charged the full amount. Would be a great place if they could improve on service, understanding of their own menu and also most importantly honest and early communication. Only bad review we have in sri lanka - see our comments on other places...

I recent visited Galle with my family and an afternoon at the Serendipity Cafe was one of the highlights of our trip. We signed up for one of the cooking classes, learning how to make from scratch, 4 different curries (including fish, beetroot, dahl), sambal and hoppers, which were all amazing. The host, Juliet has a great knowledge of Sri Lankan cuisine and allows you to gain an insight into life inside the fort.
Following our late lunch, we went on a walking tour around the fort which was excellent, followed by some gelato.
Would highly recommend the cooking classes if you are interested in Sri Lankan food and gaining an insight into the culture and life of the Fort.

Very nice place and the food was delicious. The place where you can not only get a snack or a cup of coffee, see the paintings also. Just put on an exhibition of paintings of the Russian artist Anastasia. In this place you have a rest for body and soul!
Enjoyed, Sasha and Julia (January 2014)

Been here a couple times. Good tea, chill atmosphere and yummy dinner. I had the roasted veggies and my partner had a curry dish. Both were very good.

Never had any bad service or bad quality food at Serendipity Arts Cafe. The coffee, rice and curry and even the mexican wraps here are always fresh and tasty!! I often come back here.
