No-frills beach hut bar with oceanfront tables for dining. Fresh seafood served daily at prices much cheaper than the neighbouring resort restaurants. We dined here twice with very good experiences both times.
The first time, we had an early dinner of fresh snapper, which was pan-grilled in garlic butter and served with potatoes and salad, local style. Contrary to another review, our fish was very fresh and tasted wonderful. The meal was big enough for two to split, and with a few beers thrown in, cost about £16.
We went back the next day for lunch. My wife had the mixed seafood fried rice, while I had the deviled (spicy) tuna. Again, both were delicious, and with a couple of beers and a large bottle of water, the tab was about the same.
The owner was present both days and seemed to take care to check up on the diners and meals to ensure all was OK. He's a nice guy who genuinely seems to care for his customers, and took time to ask us how we were enjoying our holiday without trying to upsell us on anything else.
As a bonus, the owner keeps two small (for now) puppies on premesis who were a hit with a few of the families that were dining. The puppies ended up hiding under our table, seeming to take a break from the over-affectionate children who were not allowing a moment of puppy peace.
Our only nit was that it took a good 40 minutes to get our food both times. However we were not in a rush, and relaxed watching the waves crash until our food arrived.
This great low-key restaurant on a gorgeous beach was one of the highlights of our trip.
