The food here is very good and good value. The restaurant is open air, with seating also available in the gardens, which are lovely. The staff are very pleasant and there is live music one night per week (Thursdays?). We ate lunch here on a few days and ~3 nights (wish it was more). We happened to be in Bentota for Independance Day celebrations. While our hotel celebrated by declining to serve alcohol on this day, Susantha's put on a special buffet with entertainment and the manager offered to have special drink with us. No, we didn't spend loads of money here. It's hard to do that. The manager is just a nice guy.
The restaurant is managed separately from the hotel. Although it does not have a sea view and is close to the train tracks (alot of places are in Bentota), it is a pleasant, unpretentious place to hang out. The food by far surpasses any other restaurant we went to. Just remember you are in Sri Lanka and don't expect the Hilton.
