We enjoyed every minute of our stay in The Villa Bentota, we were there for 5 days with our kids ( 10 and 13 ) ! the place looks nice on their website but you should see it in real ! it s a fantastic property, from the time you enter the reception you have a feeling of luxurious and quiteness. The staff are really nice, always there when you need them but also discreet. The hotel is located on a nearly deserted beach. We were lucky enough to stay in the prestigious Mohotti Suite, 2 double bed room and huge bathroom all very with a seating room overlooking the garden. We had most of our meals at The Villa as it was the food was excellent, the executive chef always came to our table to make sure everything was fine. By the way, we tried each single dessert on the card and they are all to die for !
This is a fantastic place and I will definitely recommend it to our friends, we hope to go back soon.
We stayed one night at their sister property in Colombo, Tintagel it was again an beautifull place but I wrote a review as well if you want to have a look. Been many times to Colombo on business and I beleive this is only place to go !

Found the hotel to be exceptional. The design is straight forward minimal chic. With a graphic punch. Approachable and comfortable. High taste level in exploring all detail. The service is professional and understated. Found the staff to be on point. Design was appealing to my esthetic and because of that extended my stay. Only ate at the hotel. Food was good. not necessarily "amazing" but completely satisfied with my choices. There is not much to do around the hotel. Which was ok for me. The pools and beach were fantastic. My only issue with this hotel, is that it set the standard for the other hotels that followed. As a result, I had to stay at their Tintagel property in Colombo. Could not pass up that opportunity. The hotel experience itself is a good reason to add to your travel to Sri Lanka. Of course staying at the Tintagel as part of the trip. Oh the train.... Could care less. Hardly noticed. Was nostalgic and was part of the experience. The Biltmore Four Seasons in Santa Barbara also has a train running through it. This is nothing like that. Was great to see it go by.

The Villa Bentota is a masterpiece of design, architecture and service. Every corner of the villa seems to capture the eclectic mix of local culture, colonialism and contemporary design and provides guests with a serene ambience to relax and enjoy, in style. Finally, Sri Lanka is "on the map" and can proudly boast a world class beachfront property, resplendent in local art and antiquities and located in a private and picturesque piece of the spectacular Sri Lankan coastline. We had the absolute pleasure of staying in the exquisite Mohotti Suite which was spacious, luxurious and private. From the linens to the lotions, the free standing tub to the terracotta lamps, the quality is unsurpassed. The food at the Villa Cafe is superb. The restaurant itself is a private pavilion with elegant rattan whitewashed chairs and a magnificent stone, open-plan kitchen. The menu is unique and authentic with an appeal to a wide range of palates. Once again, attention to detail is incredible, from the beautifully branded tableware to the meal presentation. Our children loved watching the steam train cruise past the villa and would stop for a photo opportunity each time we crossed the train line to head to the beach. We have travelled to Sri Lanka several times and never experienced service like that provided by The Villa Bentota. It is truly a stunning property and we would highly recommend it ..........the perfect place for a party, a family holiday or a weekend away. Fingers crossed we will be back there very soon!

Initially booked 2 nights at The Villa and ended up staying 5. We absolutely fell in love with the place. It's a must if you are planning a relaxing holiday in Sri Lanka. The property is absolutely stunning. The staff very friendly and professional and helped make our stay very comfortable and care free. Gorgeous food - special thank you to The Chef who makes the best Sri Lankan style curry ever! The beach is wide, long and practically deserted. We spent most time at the pool, however, as we were trying to absorb as much of The Villa and it's grounds as possible. Loved EVERYTHING about this very special place. Thank you to the young and charming Assistant Manager who made us feel so very welcome (and for the lift to the Station!). Hopefully, we meet again! Jared and Julia.

We found this gorgeous hotel in the new Luxe guide to Sri Lanka. The description sold it to us straight away and was spot on:" OMG - Bawa Beach Babe"!!
We stayed in Suite 3 that has the most gorgeous terrace overlooking palmtrees and the sea in the distance, pure bliss!
If you feel like you deserve to be treated like a princess (or prince), this is definitely the place for you, the service was fantastic, the food amazing and so spoiling to have the Executive Chef greeting us before and after each meal!!
We spent many hours by the gorgeous pool and discovered the ayurvedic clinic next door, which we visited every day for a massage! Can you OD on treats....definitely not! This is a fantastic place and I definitely hope to go back sooner rather than later!
