This is a really wonderful seafood restaurant on the Elpitiya road Bentota. I have eaten here many times and have never benn disapointed. It overlooks a lagoon and the prawns are to die for!!!! It is best to ring first and tell the owner that you are coming and what seafood you want. It is a must for anyone visiting this area.

The food here was the highlight of our stay in Sri Lanka.

We phoned in advance and arrived early for a great trip around the beautiful lake, armed with a few beers. It was a really beautiful spot and we didn't see another soul out on the water.

We'd pre-ordered some prawns which turned out to be more like lobsters - they were huge. We were asked how we wanted them cooked and opted for a prawn curry which proved to be absolutely delicious, using lots of lime, tomato and chili. Amazingly there was no-one else there so we sat right out overlooking the water in what was a really special setting.

My only slight gripe is that you don't really know how much the meal is going to cost and it certainly wasn't cheap in Sri Lankan terms. I would suggest agreeing a price when you phone up to reserve a spot. The staff were super friendly though and even gave us a lift home in their tuk tuk.

My wife and I went to Diya Sisila 2 nights in a row.. Owner and brother was such a great friend and host.!.
He is the highlight of our trip to Sri Lanka.
The owner even sent us back to our hotel at Avani 2 nights in a row with his tuk tuk. (no charge)
On our 2nd night he insisted on paying for our beer and we chatted away on the 2nd night talking about Sri Lanka, his family. And he even brought us to buy a top up card for our mobile..
Talk about 5 star service.

We had an absolutely lovely meal and catamaran trip last night at this restaurant. Perfect if you want to tour around the beautiful lake for an hour and then have a lazy dinner at a really romantic location. The staff were wonderful. It isn't cheap, but it won't break the bank either. We loved whiling away the hours here, so it's not for you if you want fast food, but why would you want that in such a wonderful place? Truly magical and can't wait to visit again. H&J

Was in Bentota over the weekend and was looking for a place to have lunch on the last day. We came across this place as it was the highest rated on trip advisor. Went there with really really high expectations.

The food was a refreshing change given that we had been having standard hotel food the whole weekend. However, we felt it was a little overrated and the food was not as wonderful as discribed by most reviews. It wasn't bad, but just not as wonderful as anticipated. However, I should mention that the prawns were absolutely fresh and cooked just right.

There is no menu and you can just ask them for what ever you like in terms of seafood when u call to make the reservation. Therefore, I don't think there are many options in terms of what you can have.

Things to note - you need to call at least an hour in advance and let them know ur coming, along with what u want to eat, so that they can go buy the seafood and prepare it nice and fresh. Also, it might be nice to have dinner here, since it's by the river and they set up the table by the river it's self. Should be quite nice during sunset.

Price - they were nice enough to offer us a good price so it was ok.
