This tomb is in the Daereungwon Kings Tombs complex and well worth the nominal fee. Especially if you're a history buff. This tomb was carefully reconstructed to show what was in the tomb and display era items with descriptions, videos and other information. Amazing insight into history, beautifully maintained. The rest of the tomb complex is neat to see too, and the pond, but this was the pinnacle for sure. So much history and information to learn. Not a long or hard walk. Wheelchair accessible. The tomb is underground, so even hot days aren't bad once you're inside.

We visited on a VERY hot and humid day! They do sell water in a few spots, and a chunk of the grounds are shaded. The tomb itself was impressive and they have some great displays showing how the tombs are built.

If you go Korea, you need to go Gyeongju and to the parks of Tombs. An amazing location with a lot of Tombs. One you can even visit inside.

Worth to visit.

This was the only tomb in Daereungwon that we were able to enter and get a better understanding of how they were constructed as well as more insight into the traditions behind this king's burial. It also was air conditioned which was a nice break from the weather outside.

The main attraction was a very detailed replica of the actual burial chamber with the wooden coffin, gold crown and other artifacts that were buried with the king. As we circled through the mound, there were more displays going into further details about such items as the crown, treasures and the flying horse saddle that contributed to the namesake of this mound. It was quite amazing that the painted wood survived over a thousand years and became an important symbol associated with the Shilla period.

There also were good videos covering the mound's construction process and well as the excavation. Definitely you should view it as part of your visit.
