“Porter Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2013

As far as I can tell this is the only hotel in Korea with porter service. Mr Park will fight you for your bags and refuse to let you carry them. Mrs Park provides great accommodation at a fraction of the big hotel prices but still to a high standard. I had a bag of laundry done during my stay and at the end Mrs Park refused payment for it as she did not think it was a big bag. A great choice in this area.

For me the bed was too hard but that is just personal preference.

Mrs. Park picked us up from the train station for free and gave us really helpful tips about travelling in Gyeongju. My husband was especially happy and said he wanted to back for a vacation of just relaxing and writing. We had a really good stay and felt at home. Would go back in a heartbeat. It is a ways out of town but the transportation system in Korea is reliable and we got to all the places we wanted to see really easily.

We just stayed at Bellus Rose for two nights and were very happy there. The room was clean and comfortable and thoughtfully prepared. The little kitchenette has all the essentials and is super convenient. Our room had a little porch with a table which was perfect for enjoying breakfast. The property is very cute and the owners are very nice. We were warmly greeted and taken care of in a very unobtrusive way. She even brought us apples picked right off the tree one morning. We were traveling with a toddler and it was perfect for us. Highly recommend!

Both Mr & Mrs Park were very hospitable and helpful during our trip in Gyeongju. My brother and I truly enjoyed our stay in Bellus-Rose and the daily breakfast prepared by Mrs Park. All in all it was money well spent :) Only regret was the short time spent in Gyeongju. Thank you Mr & Mrs Park!

Mrs Park, the owner/manager, is a kind, warm and welcoming host. She gave us bus instructions and met our bus; she was helpful throughout our stay. The pension is 1 km from the nearest bus stop, so there is a 12-15 minute walk from the bus -- slightly unpleasant after a lot of walking, on a hot day. However, Mrs Park was helpful with her car, especially at the start and end of our stay, when we had luggage. From the bus stop you can access virtually every attraction in Gyeongju. The pension is well located for walks or bicycle rides around the lake. The pension itself is well maintained and our room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was tasty and generous. There is a pool but it is very small and rather shallow. Mrs Park was well informed about restaurants, how to use the bus network, etc. The bus system in Gyeongju is good and affordable; rides cost between 1200 and 1500 KRW, and T-Money cards from Seoul can be used. First time visitors with no Korean should watch the bus stops carefully, as you have to ring to stop the bus and it is easy to get off a stop early or a stop late.

The best feature of the Bellus Rose is Mrs Park -- she is the perfect host. We had a great time.

Room Tip: We stayed in the "Korean" room, which uses floor mats similar to Japanese futons rather th...

Sometimes a good experience with a hotel makes a trip that much more memorable. Our 2-night stay at the Bellus-Rose Pension was the highlight of our trip to Gyeongju (and we absolutely loved the other aspects of our Gyeongju trip as well).

We were late leaving Seoul to head down to Gyeongju, so we didn't arrive in the city until almost 1am. We were lost in the vicinity, and the proprietors were kind enough to drive out to where we were to guide us to the pension. I've stayed at other pensions in Korea, and most other pension owners would have been annoyed that we were arriving so late, and certainly would not have taken the trouble to drive out to meet us - so right off the bat, we were very impressed with the level of service.

The next morning, the owners checked with us to provide recommendations on where to go, what to see, where to eat - providing us with maps and guides. And the following morning, they came out to see us off like we were some old family friends staying over in their private home. It was really refreshing to see such hospitality (beyond just professional courtesy, but a real, genuine personal hospitality) from someone we'd never met before.

The room and the facilities are also great. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and the bedding didn't feel old and ragged (as it can in some other pensions). There is a small swimming pool, which was a welcome respite for the kids after walking around in the heat all day seeing the sights.

Overall, I was VERY impressed with this pension and will stay here again the next time I'm in Gyeongju. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.

all in all nice location. Gyoengju city has little to offer, so stay in bellus rose and explore the area on the free bikes, by the lake :) Go for a walk among all the pensions in the area. they are so pretty.
The rooms are nice and clean. you will feel at home here with kitchen and tv.
The pool was noy yhe best, so we didn't use it.
