Nahbi Guest House for Backpackers
Ranked #25 of 110 Gyeongju B&B and Inns

This hostel is located in a fantastic central location, on a main street with easy access to shops and food. But the real star of the show at this hostel is the owner TJ and the other staff. He was always there to help our group out with directions, suggestions, and feedback on what we had planned to do. He'd book our taxi for us and answer calls from us giving directions to taxi drivers. On our first day in Gyeongju, we even had two of the staff accompany our group to take us out to the area's temples and monuments, helping us navigate the Korean bus network and understand what to do!

The hostel itself is very clean, safe, and has ready access to everything one would need (internet, breakfast with eggs, and a safe). The rooftop area is also great for socialising and from all the great feedback stuck on the walls of the guesthouse, it's very easy to tell that everyone does have a fantastic time here.

I stayed at Nahbi Guesthouse when I visited Gyeongju last summer. I found the hostel to be more than adequate and it had a true hostel vibe. The location is perfect. You are less than a 10 minute walk from all the major sites within Gyeongju proper and a short walk away from the bus station to take you away to the farther sites. Moreover, the owner is extremely hospitable. He goes out of his way to make sure you are comfortable during your visit to Gyeongju. The rooms and showers are clean, though the main office had no air conditioning. Overall, I highly recommend Nahbi!

Nahbi Guest House is the perfect place for those looking for cheap budget accommodation in Gyeongju. Owner TJ is very friendly and came running down the street with a peach to give me as I left the hostel! The free breakfasts and drinking nights were a nice social bonus. A short walk from the main bus depot. Highly recommended.

Nice guest house located in the heart of the city of Gyeongju.
Bus stop is just outside and easy to get to from train stations and bus terminal.

It is close to all attractions in the city and the markets.
This guesthouse has lots of character to it that follows the owner’s interests.
The young owner of this place, TJ, is fluent in English and very helpful and friendly. He knows what backpackers need and therefore he is prepared for any standard wishes. He just makes you feel welcome and comfortable. If you need to organise your next hostel at your next stop or your travel itinerary, he will help you.
I stayed at a single room, which was comfortable and clean and best value. Owner often organizes to meet with the other travellers for beer in lounge room or even takes people out to eat to show local food.
Guest house has private rooms and a dorm room as well. Very clean place and well lay out for everyone.
Nice kitchen with a nice self serve breakfast of toast and eggs for everyone.
I heard from owner that he has a regular guest of a Japanese man who has stayed there over 20 times. Goes there to relax in park all day to read and watch tv.
Overall a great experience and recommend this over to staying in a hotel in area. You get a more personal experience here.
Recommended for anyone. Singles, couples, groups or even families would be well suited at this guesthouse.
Feel free and reserve a spot right away when you plan to visit Gyeongju
I can not help to highly recommend this. Wait let me say this again.
YOU Have to stay at this Guesthouse, there is no other place like this, its amazing!

Room Tip: Reserve in advance.

During my travel through South Korea I spend 3 nights in this centrally located Guest House. It might not be in the nicest building, but you cannot beat the atmosphere of this place.
I stayed at a single room, which was comfortable and clean and best value (only 25,000 Won). The hostel is very central (close to bus terminal or train station) so the option for food places are also numerous. TJ regularly takes his guests out to local restaurants or bars in order to introduce them to local food and drinks and to have a chat and good time with the other guests.
I have the impression that TJ is consequently working on how to even improve this place and the service. Next time in Korea I will definitely stay at Nahbi again!

Room Tip: Try to get a single private room. It is cheaper than at other guest houses.

The hostel is in a good location in the center of the city near bus stops. The owner was friendly and a lot of information is provided for places and things to see in the nearby area. Check in is only allowed after 3:00, no exceptions. Which is because between 10:30-3:00 everyday you cannot be in the guest rooms or kitchen area (So they can clean?). There are empty and dusty wine and beer bottles lined around the floor, which gives the hostel a bit of a dirty and rundown feel. However, breakfast is included with eggs, toast, coffee, and tea; although it is self serve.

Room Tip: The dorms are located on the third floor which is where the showers are, and they away from the comm...

I stayed here for two nights in September 2012.

TJ is super nice and his English is pretty good. I didn't have any issues communicating with him. It is located on the main street in Gyeongju. The bus stop is less than 15 seconds away. TJ has a map of the local food places.

Make sure you try the noodle shop that's around the corner. It is run by an elderly Korean woman. She doesn't speak a word of English. I went in and sat down, and next thing you know she put a bowl of noodles in front of me. It's classic!!!

I would stay here again if I return to Gyeongju.
