Anapji Pond is a very beautiful part of the quaint and green Gyeongju. Like others have mentioned tou can cycle all around the city, so make this a stop and enjoy the natural beauty and calm.

Try to come when there are less tourists. I recommend going in autumn when the leaves are red and yellow. Even better time to go is in Spring when the cherry blossom trees are out, but be warned there are a lot of tourists.

The area is not very huge, so great to visit and have an evening walk in the evening when the place are light up.

The pond is very beautiful and great if you like to take pictures. It's a very popular place for Korean people to visit so it's always busy. There also almost no information about the history of the pond, which I think is very interesting so you should read up on it before your visit. At the Gyeongju museum, which is only a 2 min walk, there is a lot more info about the place.

Anapji pond is a must when visiting Gyeongju. The thing about this city is that you can pretty much bike around all the famous sites in the city area. It is also quite safe so I recommend biking or walking to Anapji to beat the crowd. This place really is magical. You can really appreciate this magnificent yet cozy site at night when the building lights up.

We viewed this 3 times. Once as we passed by bus in autumn so lotus floweres were yellowing and fading. Then at night when the palaces nearby were lit up, and we spotted a night heron coming in to roost, then finally by bicycle in the day. Story associated with the pond is very touching.
