GENERAL. There is a category of hotels in Korea known as Love Motels located near bus and train stations. Despite the name, it is a very economical and clean form of accommodation. Apparently they are used by locals who require some privacy for a few hours or nights but they are perfectly acceptable for foreigners as well. They are not seedy or of ill-repute. Yet privacy is certainly guaranteed as most have a parking garage in the back, the lift from the ground floor to the rooms will bypass the reception and lobby, keys can be left in the lift upon checkout, full payment is required at checkin but little or no ID needs to be shown. They are photo contacts near the lift. All very discreet. The rooms are usually good-sized, cleaned every day with extra towels, soap, condoms. Most rooms come standard with a giant TV (with a free porno channel), high speed Internet, PC, mini frig with a few free items inside. Many Love Motels have pictures of the rooms on the outside of the building. Love Motels are rarely fully occupied.
PRO. Bali Motel is in a good location just south of the Express Bus Station and Dongodaegu Rail Station. It is about a 30 minute taxi ride from the airport and also to the EXCO convention centre. The neighborhood is full of similar Love Motels, convenience stores, karaoke bars, super markets and eating places. The lobby on the 1st floor was simple but clean while the receptionist spoke only very broken English. Room on the 6th floor was decent with comfortable bed, big screen TV, PC (but all in Korean!), mini frig with juices, hot/cold water purifier, very quiet AC and fan. Bathroom with shower/bath, soap and shampoo, hair drier. Decent water pressure. Very fast high speed Ethernet connection.
CON. Oddly enough no closets in the room. Only a place to hang about 3 shirts and the rest were piled on a counter. Windows are standard size but only one small portion opens but there is no view anyway. No restaurant, laundry, room service or anything else.
TIPS! A translator app on your mobile device is very useful that shows Korean script and phonetics as well as speaks! Ask the receptionist to write the motel's location in Korean on a piece of paper that you can hand to taxi drivers; otherwise, it is extremely difficult to explain to them where to go. If you want WIFI for your other devices in the room then you will have to turn your laptop into a WIFI hot spot - easy to do with Mac and worked very fine.
