Jeju Palace Hotel
Ranked #93 of 162 Hotels in Jeju
Reviewed July 9, 2013

We stayed here for 2 nights during our recent trip to Jeju-do. The hotel is located at the main roadside, adjacent to the rows of shops. There's no proper drop-off area at the hotel lobby. It is a decent hotel which has over it's prime era.

Our room located at the higher floor and has a good view of the sea. The bed is firm and comfortable and the room is clean. However, the room space is constraint and literally no place to stow our luggage begs. There's no wardrobe provided so we just hang our clothes on the hanger onto the wall. Bathroom is generally clean but the bathtub stained. The hot shower and the minibar works well. They provide only basic amenities such as a soap bar and hair shampoo.

Breakfast is served at the 10th floor, which is the highest floor of the hotel, overlooking the beautiful seafront view. They served limited and average continental buffet breakfast with egg station. As the hotel mainly cater for group of tourists, the dining area is overcrowded with Asians tourists in most mornings and most of them are loud. If you want to avoid the crowd and have a quiter breakfast, go for it before 7.30am and you shall be enjoying your breakfast while overlooking the beautiful seafront view. The crowd slowly build up by 8am usually.

There's a McDonald within walking distance from the hotel and several Korean restaurants at the hotel vicinity. There are also 2 convenient stores which one is located across the hotel and another one located at the same row with the hotel. A departmental store is located across and within 3 mins walking distance from the hotel. There are 2 casinos located also within 5-10 mins walk from the hotel.

In general, we quite enjoyed our stay in this hotel despite a few shortcoming. Given a chance, I will rate this hotel a 3.5 points instead of 3.0.

Room Tip: Choose a higher floor with sea front view.

This room was really good after staying in Korean style heated floor rooms. Nice, clean, very comfortable and relaxing stay I had here. Situated quite near the Casino - about 10 minutes walk with quite a number of shops along the way. Very strategic location.

We stayed 2 nites at this hotel as that was the place our group tour intinery planned. Hence location access and price will not be commented.

As said most things worked fine and whats said by fellow TAers reflects truly - smallish room, even for Asians like me, non-full toiletries (perhaps some people prefers their own), no hot water in room or corridor, heater in room works fine for us (not too stuffy) and we sleep fairly well.

One contributor here - 'Awful, worst hotel ever" did not truely reflect this hotel, guess he has his own issue on bed bugs, which we did not experience.

Room Tip: Rooms facing sea view is a plus if staying longer during daytime.

I stayed at this hotel through the booking by an agents, my reviews are

(+): nice location , surrounded by many Korean restaurants and convenient stores, also some shops. Reasonable price
(-): the hotel is a little old, not really well-furnished and breakfast is very boring!

Rooms were stuffy and no airconditioning although they provided a fan. Some guests complained about mosquitoes.

Bring your own toiletries and no internet access.

Location is reasonably good, near restsurants and other ameneties.

Stayed 1 night in this charmless tourist block. Staff hardly speaks English so your key is given in total silence. Room on 8th floor had nice sea-view. The (breakfast) restaurant on the top-floor was not in function, the coffeeshop in the lobby is actually a vending machine for coffee and soda.
Still convenient as location is nearby the ferry-terminal and harbourfrontactivities.

Room Tip: Frontsiderooms have seaview

Room size is very small with tiny bath bathroom. Have to carry heavy luggage up the stairway at the entrance without assistance or a path to pull your luggage trolley. Inconvenient for aged travelers.
