Udo was the best place in my jeju visit. although the weather was very hot, but its windy too. My hat even blow off by the wind. The sea and sand were just too beautiful. its really a relaxing place when seeing the green grasses dancing all over in front of you. Besides, the zha jiang mian was really tasted good. it costed 8000won. the peanut icecream was famous too, 3000won. We sent a whole morning there. In the island, we can take bus, rent bicycle or scooter.

Udo was the best part of my Jeju visit. My sister and I rented scooters for two hours to get around the island, stopping wherever we wanted to take pictures or rehydrate (it was blazingly hot). We stopped at one of the beaches for a couple of hours, but it was just too hot to sit still on the sand. Rented scooters for the rest of the day and just zoomed around the island.

True, there isn't too much to do on the island besides going to the beach or riding around the island. And the scooters/ATVs available for rent are a bit expensive (15,000won for 2 hours). But if you're looking for a relaxing day with beautiful sights, I highly recommend a visit.

The coral sand beach was really nice! Not much to see or do beyond that, and another two beaches - one very crowded white sand beach, and another black sand beach that nobody seemed to care about other than for a walk. The reviews make it seem like it's some kind of paradise, we just found it crowded, full of concrete and terrain that is parted for construction, not much vegetation. There are a few lighthouses and it looks like people could venture out on the rocks by the beach if they felt like it. What saved our trip was a little place called Chocolate Castle by the Sea, a burger restaurant that had amazing burgers and a great homey feel inside. We biked the whole island in 3 hours, with stops.

Likes: some great views, fresh sea food (abalone, snails etc)
Dislikes: scorchingly hot and humid in summer, lots and lots of visitors, commentaries on the bus are all in Korean so you need to figure out on your own what the driver says or just follow the crowd.

We rented a 125cc scooter for 2 at the Udo ferry terminal for KRW 25,000 that got us to cover the entire island within 2 hours. Having the scooter allowed us to take in the sights and attractions with ease as the shuttle bus was packed with more people waiting at every bus stop we had passed by.
