“Scooter around and go explore with friends”
Reviewed October 4, 2012

This could be an amazing place to visit provided you have good weather and great friends. Scootering around the tiny island can be fun if you stop off at the beaches, swim along the way and explore the caves and tunnels by the black sand beach. Definitely keep an eye out for the giant burger restaurant and the peanut Makgeolli stand (막걸리, it's alcoholic rice wine!), both are delicious! Don't over-hype it or expect too much, just go to have fun and you'll be happy you went.

“A must to visit!”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

We got an ATV (40000KRW for 2 hours) and rode around the island. It was really fun and you get to explore the whole island. There are small little cafes where you can just park your ATV and pop in for a coffee and a cake. The water is amazingly clear and blue.

“ATV Adventure”
Reviewed August 24, 2012

The best way to experience nature and the beauty of Udo Island is not necessarily by being seperated by metal and a loud motor, but it sure is fun! One of our best days while on vacation was riding the ferry to Udo and renting ATV's to tour around the island.

“Wonderful place!”
Reviewed July 3, 2012

Most people visit Jeju-do for the scenery, but I feel that the best scenery was not their waterfalls, but Udo itself. This island is stunningly beautiful, and when the weather is sunny, you can fully enjoy what it has to offer. The island isn't too big, and can be explored fully and quickly via scooter or ATV. I rented the ATV for 2 hours for 25000 won, and it's totally worth it. A driving license is required for some stores, but if you don't have one, you can find other stores that may be more lax with the regulations... I do not recommend it personally for safety reasons, but if you really did so (just like me), ride within your own abilities and comfort level and do not speed! Most of the driving is done on tarmac, so it is relatively safe. Along the way you can always park your ATV and stop and take some photos!

I would recommend spending some time at the beach, the water is really clear and the sands are clean! There is also this coast where crashing waves will hit and splash all over you if you get close enough, quite an interesting experience too. Over there you can also enjoy some of the local seafood caught freshly. There is also horse-riding available , which can be found somewhere off the Udo port.

If possible, spend at least half a day there! The Seongsan ferry terminal is about a 20 minute walk from the famous Seongsan Ilchubong, so it's recommended to go Udo after you scaled the peak in the morning and have some time to spare in the afternoon.
