“Lava Tubular!”
Reviewed August 4, 2013 via mobile

This was fun. it only took about an hour to go all the way through. there is a 2,000W charge. its chilly inside so if you bring the kids, pack their jackets. Its solid lava so it is not as colorful or full of stalagtytes as other natural caves but being in a lava tube is a unique experience and this one is really big. enjoy!

“Unique experience , great lava cave”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

We go in the end of June , basically it is hot outside, but inside the cave is cold and a bit freezing, take along taxi ride from Soegwipo area, cause we travel in 5, 1 senior over 75 , 1 teenager ,1 children of 7, so we decide to book taxi for 8 hours to explore Jeju it is more convenient and save time than using bus , but a little pricey 120.000 krw for whole day,
After reaching the cave and go down to look inside , my wife and mother in law surrender, cause it is to exhaust to walk 2 kilometer ( in and out )for senior and a bit dim, Cave is big , but there is no living creatures like bats or others, I my self do not really excited at first, but my 7 years son and my teenagers daughter really like to explore the cave, so we are not prepared and just go. A bit chilling but still bearable, no toilet inside so prepared your self , the light is dim but still able to see around, there is water dropping from ceiling but not too often ,the water clean and no smell, the pathway is not level and bumpy ,watery here and there in a few area the but still manageable and walkable , don't have to worry, if my 7 years old can do it so can others , at last this is a pleasant and unique experience, a bit exhausting walk , but worth a try

this is rare chance to walk down lava tubes and look at the odd shapes and formations caused by the molten rock. You can see different layers of lava that once flowed here and see how the laval squeezed through smaller passages.
Consider bringing an umbrella or a very light shell. It can be damp and sometimes water drips from the ceilings. Also, it's significantly cooler than outside.
All in all, a must.

I had never seen dried lava before (other than when hiking hallasan which was only the day before) so I thought this was super cool. There are tons of informative signs along the way too. Oh and it's cool inside--not humid!
