The well-landscape beautiful environment surrounding the entrance to the "Manjanggul Lava Tube" enticed us into the cave which can be described as a hole in the ground. As we descended the steps, we realized it was quite dark and the ground was not level. Walking has to be slow otherwise we may slip and fall on the damp and watery walkway. We also have to be careful that we will not be drenched by the dripping waters from the top of the cave.

There were two or three highlights of the walk, one is a giant-shaped lingzhi (or mushroom) and the other is at the apparent end of the 'tube', two intertwined stalagmites growing to a hole at the top.

The good thing about the cave is the cool temperate and although we were sweating from the walk, we liked it. So for those who fear the cold, take a sweater and also a cap!

Really enjoyed the place, great place to visit. As mentioned, more for casual visitors, not cave-experts. Can drip quiet a bit in places, so a rain jacket or hat can be helpful. Good shoes definitely a plus, though it is not a difficult walk and lit well enough. About 1km in, same way back out. Didn't feel too cold, pleasant.

A bit wet due to recent rains. Luckily I wore a wide hat which was perfect. Enough light to see where you were going without twisting an ankle. Reminded me of the place where Phantom might have lived in Phantom of the Opera.

A nice break from the heat, it's nice and cool down there!
You can walk 1km, I think we spent about an hour down there total.
Really slippery, be careful!
One of the coolest things I did in Jeju.

Having experienced caves in the USA, I was expecting a similar experience. Not at all the the case on Jeju with the manjanggul caves. This UNESCO site is self led, wet, slippery, dark and EXCELLENT! Also, very cool in temperature which was very welcome in the humid conditions present on Jeju in July.
