“Beautiful Walking Spot in Haeundae”
Reviewed November 9, 2013

Dongbaek Island is located next to Haeundae Beach and is just a short walk from the marina. It is an absolutely beautiful park that is pedestrians only, and it has great views out to sea. At the top there is a statue and monument and it is a very peaceful place to relax. And it's the best value for your money, since it's free.

“A lovely walk in Dongbaek Park”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

Haeundae beach was lovely in the sunshine in October but there are no chairs or sunbeds to sit on and it was hot so we needed an umbrella as well! The guide book doesn't say much about Dongbaek Park but it is a lovely walk at the end of the beach and beautiful views towards Gwangalli beach and the Diamond Bridge. You can also go into APEC House which is where the 2nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders' Meeting was held in 2005 and see where George Bush sat! There is a small cafe below.

“Charming walk !”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

Set at one end of the Haeundae beach, Dongbaek Island does not need a boat to get there. It is now joined to the mainland. It is closed to motorised traffic, cycles and skates. It is a delightful walk - if you are not in a hurry. The island is a small hill with a park. There is a walkway built right around it.

There are a number of view points along the way to stop and take in the landscape. The most spectacular being in the evening, when the Gwangali bridge is lit up.The park is worth exploring - i did not have the time. However I walked around the island on 2 occasions, and would do it again.

There are toilets. There are benches along the way to rest and relax. However, there are no eating places/water to drink. It is more popular with local residents than tourists, who come there for a relaxing stroll.

It is a vantage point for the Busan International Fireworks Festival held on Gwangali Beach, because you can see the fire works and the Bridge together - magnificient sight.
