“Beautiful”
Reviewed February 8, 2013

It was fantastic, only go if the weather is good and not very handicap accessible. But gorgeous! It was more enjoyable than other temples because of the gorgeous location, the crashing waves make this temple visit one of the kind.

“Enchanting Seaside Temple”
Reviewed January 7, 2013

The temple is beautiful and sits on an enchanting seaside cliff. It's a bit of a hike from the car park, but thankfully it's all paved with concrete and easy to walk. The temple is very famous throughout Korea and tends to be packed during national holidays and weekends (especially during Buddha's Birthday), so it's best to try to visit during the week and away from holidays.

“Stunning temple”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

I'm of the belief that - usually - if you've seen one Korean temple, you've seen them all. Thankfully, Yonggungsa is an exception to the rule. Set against the wind blown coast and cut into the stark rock, the temple is strikingly beautiful and quite haunting on an overcast and windy day.

While the crowds do make it difficult to get any real feeling of serenity when visiting, it's definitely one of Korea's most beautiful temples.
