“Nice and worth a quick visit”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

Be aware they open at 9 AM and there are no coffe shops open before that so dont be early. It is a lovely little park/cemetery and it is quite interesting to walk around for little while.

“Peaceful and respectful”
Reviewed August 23, 2013 via mobile

I have been to the UN Cemetary once for Armistace Day and wish I had had more opportunities to do so as the ceremony was respectful and poignant...I recommend attendance as it is an interesting time to see the cemetary.

“Amazing if you love war memorials!”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

I am a young canadian and i love learning about wars and seeing recognition of Canadian involvement abroad. This was on my list to see while in busan and I made sure I wouldn't miss it.

-Excellent english info booklet: clear, attractive and accurate
-wonderful well-maintained grounds
-beautifully designed
-indoor exhibits are good, interesting photos to see
-lots of small trees and flowers around
-each country has its own section and is well-signed
-great photo opportunities everywhere
-open every day
-short flag-raising ceremony every morning at 10 sharp

-slightly difficult to reach. Take the 134 bus from busan train station. There is only 1 area where all the buses stop so don't worry about direction. Get off right after you pass by busan museum and a un war sculpture on your left. Coming back is with the same bus in opposite direction. But you might as well see the busan museum, it is about 3 mins walk away.
-not a lot of shade for hot summer months
-not much actual information, its a cemetery not a museum
-the grass is so beautiful because you are not allowed to walk on the grass, so you cannot get up close to the graves.

“Hoping for peace”
Reviewed July 7, 2013

This UN-created memorial for the victims of the Korean war in 1950s is a beautifully designed garden and other structures in it. The glass paintings in the small chapel are secular and very pleasing. Busan people are very proud to have this memorial built in their town and not in Seoul - typical struggle between number 1 and number 2 cities...!!!

“Beautiful Site!”
Reviewed July 4, 2013

A great tribute to those who sacrificed so much for democracy and freedom! The grounds are stunning. There's a tasteful memorial, similar to the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington DC. A short film introduction is provided in the Chapel and there's a small, but interesting museum in the next building.
