“Food is always Top Notch!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2013

I have been to the Crooked door twice and both times the food has been top notch. Do not listen to the bad reviews are here those people are crazy! They always give you large portions and plenty to eat. The inside is also very nice and cozy so its a great place to go to dinner with family, friends, or friends to have a good time.

“Fab Dinner w/old friends”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 8, 2013

If you are ever in the Albion area, please stop by the Crooked Door Tavern. Prices are excellent and the amount of food is abundant! Owner Joe stopped by not once but two times to see how we were doing. Staff was so friendly and attentive. Service with a smile and great attitude to boot! Fish Fry Friday was Haddock and delicious. Will definitely be back!

“Friendly and Inviting Place to Eat”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2013

I've been to this restaurant twice, both times on a late Sunday afternoon. When I was there, the there were few patrons, so I definetly did not experience anything remotely close to a "noisy" crowd of people that other reviewers have stated. Both times I sat in the bar area, which has a warm, cozy, nostalgic feel to it. The servers and bar tender were very friendly. I ordered the sirloin steak (most inexpensive one on the menu) medium rare. When the server brought my steak, she asked me to check it to ensure it was prepared at the correct temperature. I was cooked perfectly as I ordered. The flavor of the steak, accompanied with a mushroom demi-glaze, was wonderful. You could select two "sides" with your meal, of which a potato is not a requirement (great!). The owner makes it a point to speak with every patron (not sure if this happens when the restaurant is busy, but I did observe this both times I was there). There are two floors to the dining area, of which the upper level is a loft overlooking the lower. I personaly prefer the more nostalgic bar area. This is more of an "upscale" place so expect it to be more pricey than a typical neighborhood bar (which as I understand this place used to be, but certainly is not now).

Bad food, noisy, chaotic. Had reservations, but owner clueless. Parking bad, disorganized. Smelly restrooms. Overpriced, don't waste your time

“Excellent food in a relaxing atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 25, 2013 via mobile

While biking the Erie canal, we stopped on the way and found this gem in a quiet street in Albion.
The soups are excellent esp. The Lobster bisque and the burgers and sandwiches are faboulos. You should really try Joe's dpecial burger, hard to get out there hungry....
